The Devil's Nest | Thursday Evening

Buffy was so glad she was at work today rather than some hellish dungeon that cruelly denied her caffeine. She had been a coffee-drinking machine this week and that still held up today despite the fact she was surrounded by booze. At least she'd be perky for work.

She was even ignoring the fact that the DJ kept playing One Direction. Didn't matter, coffee existed.

Jaina didn't like this week any more than she liked last week- for entirely different reasons, of course- and as per normal, when there needed to be distraction, it was time for the bar. Because if she spent any more time at the gym she'd have to start paying rent, mainly.

"You're new," she noted, taking a seat.

"Jaina. I'm here Sundays. Hopefully you're very new and missed last week?" Jaina said.

"I want to say 'I'm sorry' to that," Jaina said, "and I'm not sure to which part. Maybe both."

"Vodka tonic," she said, because it was that sort of week. "How'd you end up here? At the bar, I mean."
solo_sword: (oh?)

"What did he do that you threatened to kill him?" she asked, like she was surprised she didn't have to ask that more.

"Goodish is about right," Jaina said. "I think it's been a while since we've had an evil vampire around, anyway."
solo_sword: (you want to tell me)

"Time moved kind of funny for me back home for a while, but I've been here on and off for six years in Fandom time. And I have no idea how that happened."

You're old, Fandom. So old.

"Nope," Jaina said. "We've had people from all over. Where'd you come from?"
solo_sword: (i kinda rule)

"Yeah, there's no normal here. Zero," Jaina confirmed. "Sorry."

"Probably," she agreed. "Though the only thing I really know about normal is that it sounds boring."

"We've had some. Oh, we have Clint," Jaina said, only because they'd had this conversation. "And maybe the kids in his class. That might be it. Or I need to meet more people."
solo_sword: (you know...)

Jaina had to think about it. "I personally think anyone without powers can be classified as normal, but they might not come from a normal place. But if they deal with stuff like last week in a regular basis outside of Fandom, I'm not sure how to count that anymore," she said. "If we just counted it in Fandom, then no, we have no normal people."

Alice squinted at the music. It was a totally valid thing to do, really. Things like these made her rethink her policy of trying to get out more.

"And here I thought going to the bar that cards would change anything," Alice said, still squinting.

Studly vampire was there and definitely not going to eat anyone!

Well, unless they asked nicely, because what can you do? You should reward politeness.
