Biotics with supercharged amps might not have gotten hangovers, but werewolves assuredly did. Dehydration and a metabolism that ran a bit faster and hotter than normal were not friends.

Jack's mouth was still cotton as he got to the club. He shuddered to look at the liquor bottles, shuddered again at the insipid mix of '90s dance music the DJ was playing today, and called Sam Traynor before starting on the week's paperwork.

Kate didn't really need a drink, but she'd called in sick to work today so she could hang out around the island for a day more, a little more sane and a little less Swedish.

"Apple soda, pleaaase."

Maybe she'd whine at Eric later for alcohol privileges again. But for now, she was happy enough with a soda.

"You got it," Jack answered, pouring the drink and passing it over. "Did you have an insane weekend too, or were you lucky?"

"I ran a virtual reality club in the warehouse district," Kate replied as she accepted the drink. "Also I was pretty aggressively Swedish."

So, pretty insane.

Jack wrinkled his nose in sympathy. "I was some angry tattooed woman with superpowers from the future," he said. "She probably would have liked the club."

"Doubtful," Kate snorted. "All the VR stuff looked like waaay old school Mario graphics. It was really fucking ridiculous."

Okay, after listening to radio, it was obvious something really weird had been going on. Kaidan just wasn't sure what, exactly. Either way, he could really use a drink after the headaches he'd gotten.

"Beer?" he asked hopefully as he came in.

"Beer," Jack agreed, going for the glass though the smell of the taps made his stomach twist in an interesting way. "I can even make it beer and an explanation."

Not an apology. It wasn't as though girl-Jack had been intentionally -- okay, she'd been intentionally abrasive, but not intentionally baffling. But an explanation, Jack could manage.

"This weekend was a regular Fandom thing?" Kaidan guessed, based on that reaction. He had not exactly made the link between Jack and Jack yet, because frankly, it wasn't exactly the most obvious one.

"And I don't even have to start from the beginning," Jack nodded, sliding the beer across the bar. "We turn into people with the same name once in a while. If it's any consolation, Jack wasn't sure if she was the one imagining things or if you were."

Spending a weekend as an inanimate object actually made this the weirdest thing Jaina had ever had happen to her here. And that was saying something. Thus, bar.

"Vodka tonic," she said, and added, "In a glass."

Because when you spent a weekend as something people drank out of at frat parties, you developed a need to clarify.

"As if we'd serve it any other way," Jack said, and fixed the drink. He was grateful vodka had no scent to it. "Wild guess, but did you have a rough weekend?"

"Done," Jack said cheerfully. "I was a woman with too many tattoos, a partially shaved head, and a filthy mouth. Oh, and she had biotic powers and had spent most of her life in space. Mostly she was convinced she'd gotten dumped here as punishment."

Eric had woken up today in a boat in the fucking sewer.

This island...

So he was slightly grumpy, even with his glass of True Blood, as he glanced around the club to make sure no one had ruined it while he'd been brooding and kidnapping people.

Because he was the only one who suffered. Apparently the Phantom had worn off on him more than he'd admit.
