Fandom Post Office, May 7 (Tuesday)
The giant rubber duck was still there. Éponine couldn't begrudge its presence too much, since it had turned out to be useful (if for completely different purposes from its buyer's original and extremely dubious intent), but it was just taking up room.
She decided to solve this problem by taking it outside and putting it by the front door, where she proceeded to put an old, worn-out mailbag and a cap on it as if it were some sort of mascot. Because why the hell not, really.
"All right then, Monsieur le Canard," she told it as she adjusted the strap of its mailbag, "remember now, you're to represent this establishment."
It was entirely possible one of the other employees would get rid of it before the end of the day, if someone else didn't make off with it first.
[OOC: Which someone is totally welcome to do, if you feel so inclined -- just check with me first, please?]

Mod Your Post Office [5/7]
Re: Mod Your Post Office [5/7]
Maybe she'd set it up on a play-date with the giant cock at 'Dite's? That could happen, right?

Well, besides turning out to be incredibly useful blackmail leverage.

"Oh, they won't care about it, though I expect they might be sorry they won't be getting paid to send it on its way." She leaned forward, peered at Kenzi, and went on without missing a beat despite the complete change in subject, "You don't know me, but I think I've seen you about. You work at Caritas Thursday evenings, don't you?"
Which made it sound like she lurked outside the doorway sometimes and just looked in at people.
Which would not be inaccurate.
"Oh," she added as an afterthought, "I'm Éponine."
Re: Talk to Éponine [5/7]
Kitty was awesome! Which was why Kenzi gave her plausible deniability. "You need to stop in, try out the Jell-O shots."
Re: Talk to Éponine [5/7]
She cut off her rambling abruptly.
"Well, one way or another I think, yes, maybe I will."

Re: Talk to Éponine [5/7]
Or maybe they did have them, and it was just some upper-class thing she didn't know about?
She paused, looking confused, as if she didn't realize Kenzi had addressed the compliment to her. "Oh," she said with a startled laugh. "It is nice, isn't it? I've some more modern clothes too, but sometimes -- you know."
Re: Talk to Éponine [5/7]
Kenzi stood back to show off her own Goth-inspired gear. "I know! And wow, 1832? That's beyond retro and authentic into antique, jeez." She tilted her head. "How'd you get here?"
There would be the best in bar food too! Pretzels! Peanuts! More beer!
Re: Talk to Éponine [5/7]
They were bound to be the best influence ever on each other, clearly. How else could this possibly go?
Re: Talk to Éponine [5/7]
"Pffft, right, gotcha. I mean, it was fun my first summer, when the Island kept going different places and times. But that was mostly for new kinds of booze and new kinds of people to fl-- get to know." Cough!
Re: Talk to Éponine [5/7]
Éponine definitely caught that little hiccup in the sentence and kept a straight face, but did the mental equivalent of raising an eyebrow.
"The entire island was traveling, you say?"
Her father would have loved that. So would she, actually, but she was still glad he wasn't here.

Though she did look intrigued. Possibly that gave it away.
