The Park, Tuesday Afternoon

It had been some time since the last gremlin/human conflict. Or, in this case, gremlin/werewolf. So, it was long overdue that someone be bitten.

Derek would have begged to differ on this simple fact, but that was only because he was the one who had been bit as he innocently walked home from town. Bitten and turned into the most fearsome of all monsters out there...

The hugwolf.

The wind blew over the neatly trimmed grass of the park, never giving away how much danger all were in with a hugwolf on the prowl. Never giving away the insatiable nature of it's cuddling.

Stiles was taking the scenic view back to the dorms, a cup off coffee from the Perk clutched in his hand. A cup of coffee he didn't want to lose because some psycho decided to hug him.

Too bad, Stiles. Too bad.

Well, it was better than taking pictures and then photoshopping himself into them. Matt.

Meanwhile, the fearsome creature that Derek had been 'convinced' he was lurked behind the bushes, waiting for an unsuspecting person to pass. So that he might cradle them tenderly.

Well Stiles was certainly unsuspecting that was for sure. It was sort of his thing, made it easier for him to be a damsel in distress.

And, yes, this situation was certainly distressing. Not that he knew that yet.

And he wondered why people thought they needed to protect him. Tsk, Stiles.

Derek--pardon--the Hugwolf leapt out from behind the bushes, growling and with arms spread out in preparation for a hug.

"OH MY FREAKING GOD!" And there went the coffee. Goodbye, coffee. "Jesus Christ, Derek, what the hell is wrong with you?!"

SORRY HE WASN'T SORRY.

"Huuuuuuug," the creature demanded, cuddling Stiles close. Because it would never stop hugging people. It was consumed by the need to be... affectionate.

"Uh what?" Derek. Derek, this wasn't okay. Stiles' face was in your manboobs. "What is happening here? Did I have a stroke?"

All of this was very muffled 'cause, you know, manboobs.

SHUT UP AND BE HUGGED, STILES. HUGGED BY THE TERRIFYING HUGWOLF.

Yeah, no one could claim this made any sense while sober.

"Derek, man, this isn't cool," Stiles said, making an attempt to push himself away. "I thought we had a silent agreement to keep this stuff indoors. And preferably when one or both of us was pretending to be asleep."

Don't try reasoning with the hugwolf, Stiles. It didn't work. The only thing that worked were hugs.

Hugs.

So, Derek's response came in the form of ever so tender cuddling. Possibly with some rubbing of stubble on Stiles' head.

You were just the creepiest person ever, Derek.

"Are you high or something?" Stiles asked, deciding to just go with the flow and hug him back. He knew better than anyone that Derek was a pretty good cuddler, after all.

"Huuuuuuuuugs." Yes, we know that is what you're doing, Derek. Being a hugwolf and all.

"Yeah I got that part," Stiles mumbled, fishing his phone out of his pocket. 'Cause he needed a picture of Derek hugging him for posterity. And to send to Peter. "We're gonna take this picture and then you're gonna let me go, okay?"

Stiles. Stiles.

No, he was just going to make a vague growling noise. And keep on hugging you.

BECAUSE OF HUGS.

Kitty had some time before her super boring work shift, so she'd figured she could go through a walk in the park just for something to do.

If she'd known there was a hugwolf on the loose... well, she'd have brought her camera.

BECAUSE OF HUGS WAS NOT A REASON.

"This isn't letting me go," Stiles sighed. He had to think, he really didn't want anybody to find him in this position 'cause it was embarrassing.

"The guy behind you totally wants a hug, Derek." Okay so maybe the guy was a tree but it was worth a shot.

DAMN IT, KITTY.

Though, that just meant she wasn't prepared for the tackling into a gentle, tender hug. No, it didn't make any sense at all. And no, we don't think it ever would.

Damn it, Adventure Time.

Derek did pull away to find this mysterious non-hugged person. But it was only a tree. Which got a hug before he remembered Stiles was there.

"More hugging," he growled. Ominously.

Okay, not expecting that, no. For some reason you didn't expect gentle, tender hugs, which was why Kitty flailed a little. But at least she didn't phase?

"Uh... hi?"

"Hugs." Thanks for that, Derek. Thanks.
