Fandom Post Office, May 14 (Tuesday)
This week, apparently, was one of the weeks where Éponine decided to be less than judicious with her money. The allure of a phone that was new, far more sophisticated than she was ever likely to figure out, and expensive had proved too much to resist; she'd been eyeing other people's for weeks and finally decided to get one, so she could theoretically argue that it was at least in part April's fault that she was now in possession of an iPhone. (A refurbished 4S, but still.)
Whether that was accurate or not, she might very well make that argument if pressed.
Said new-to-her phone was now charging behind the post office counter, and Éponine was poring over the user manual, occasionally wondering out loud why on earth she'd ever need some of those features, and poking experimentally at the screen. Evidently she thought this was very exciting, since her sporadic outbursts of rambling had a distinct eagerness to them and from time to time she was all but beaming.
If it made her look like a kid with a new toy on Christmas morning . . . well, for her it was essentially eleven years' worth of new toys on Christmas morning all rolled into one.
