Last night had gotten Sam started with the strategy talk, and after going so long without discussing tactics, she was finding it a little hard to stop.

Of course, she didn't have anyone to talk to here in the office, but that was all right, because as always, she was perfectly fine making do with online Kepesh-Yakshi. Her opponent was a real novice with very little grasp of the strategy involved, and Sam felt it was her duty as a chess player and a strategist to tell this young salarian just why she was losing so terribly.

After Sam gave her third or fourth strategy tip into her omni-tool, the other player disconnected, ending the game.

Weird, right?

Look, it wasn't Éponine's fault that the Portalocity office was on her mail route. She wasn't even going out of her way, so if she spent another ten or fifteen minutes or so just hanging around on the other side of the street again today it wasn't as if she'd ever done anything like that before in her life, right?

Oh, wait.

In her (extremely dubious) defense, this time around she didn't actually have a clear idea of why she was doing it. Thanks for that, severely maladjusted upbringing.
