Devil's Nest | Thursday Night

Tonight the DJ was playing famous bits of movie scores for some odd reason. Buffy wasn't really sure how people could dance to this, but she was having fun guessing which movies the themes went to. She may have requested the Titanic score be played several times. She loved that movie, don't judge.

Meanwhile, Buffy was behind the bar trying to convince herself that she liked gin and tonics. It wasn't going well.

"...is that a musak version of that Titanic song?" Seriously, this bad needed to fire the DJ.

"Yep! Great, isn't it?" Sure it was, Buffy.

"If you enjoy French Canadian ear bleeding."

"I guess I do," she said with a shrug. "Let me guess--if it doesn't count as classic rock you automatically think it sucks?"

"Well, if it's true..."

Yes, give him mullet rock.

Buffy rolled her eyes. "Whiskey?"

"Hey, you're getting better at this!"

"Nah, you're just predictable."

"I was giving you a compliment." C'mon, Buffy.

"I know," she said, placing both a glass of whiskey and the bottle it came from on the bar. "I decided to ignore it and playfully insult you instead."

"Well, as long as you don't decide to tell me about your guy trouble, I guess. I get enough of that from Sam." He got no such thing from Sam.

"Who in their right mind would go to you to talk about guy trouble?" she asked.

"Hey, I am a fountain of life experiences," Dean shot back, pouring himself a glass.

"Guy trouble experiences?" she asked. "Doubt it."

Dean paused, considering that. "What about on the guy side of the equation. Got a lot of experience there."

"Oh I've got no doubt about that," she said. "Though I find most people with guy trouble don't really want to hear the guy's point of view."

No, they'd rather have someone provide ice cream and insults against said guy.

Which would be why Dean just had lonely, lonely one night stands.

And a severely codependent relationship with family. Or random non-human guys he met.

It was a thing.

"And that is why I don't date."

"Damn and here I thought the reason you didn't date was because of some dramatic story of love gone wrong," Buffy said, snapping her fingers. "I'm disappointed."

No, that would be Sam. "I could make one up. It'd involve demons and crap."

Buffy shook her head. "Nah too close to my own failed relationship stories. Been there, done that. Twice."

"Ooo, wow me."

Yeah, play this game. That would end well.
