When Emma arrived for work today, she found Tiny insisting to everyone that would listen that today was a holiday.

Fine, whatever. Emma put up a sign to humor him, and then demanded that he start making her ice cream drinks. Because she could.

There's nothing vanilla about our Sex on the Beach, unless you count the ice cream!

It was possible Emma was a terrible person, but the Devil's Nest was open.

"Ice cream beverages?" Bruce asked as he wandered over to the bar. "It's been a while since I've been in here, but this is a surprising turn for this bar."

And that was how Bruce Wayne chose to make his return to social life in Fandom after a fifteen year absence.

Now that was a familiar mind, even if he was a bit older, and Emma favored him with a bright smile. "Bruce! Don't blame me, darling. Tiny insisted, and I figure this means he owes me."

"So maybe things haven't changed much," Bruce noted. "You look as lovely as ever, Emma."

"As usual, flattery will get you almost everywhere," Emma replied cheerfully. "Although really, will I ever change to the point that I won't pounce on the chance for someone to owe me a Really Big Favor?"

Not in this universe or 616.

"What can I get for you?"

"Well, in the spirit of the holiday, what do you have with ice cream?" Bruce asked.

"We'll make pretty much anything you want with ice cream, in honor of the holiday," she answered. "That's what a blender is for, isn't it?"

Only for people who can't cook, Emma.

"If all the options are open, let's do something a little unexpected," Bruce said. "Let's see how ice cream goes with a martini."

"I hope you have a sweet tooth," Emma teased, reaching for the coffee liquor and the vodka and setting Tiny to work with the mixing while she rimmed the martini glass with chocolate shavings. "And still have a coffee addiction."

"How long has it been for you since you were here last?" Since, well, obviously Emma was still her young and charming self.

"Fifteen years," Bruce said. "I got busy, the timelines fell out of sync.... You know how it goes."

"I was cut-off for a few months, and that was disorienting enough," she sympathized, putting his ice-cream/coffee vodka martini in front of him. "What have you been busy with? Besides charming lovely bartenders."

"That's not enough?" Bruce asked. "I've been building Wayne Enterprises into the largest corporation in my world, and turning most of the profits to the Wayne Foundation so I can do some real good."

Bruce took a sip of the drink and maybe choked a little. "And apparently I don't have that much of a sweet tooth."

"It would probably be better with coffee ice cream instead of vanilla, alas, today is not coffee's day," Emma admitted with a shrug.

"Nicely done with Wayne Enterprises. I might have to take you out some night to pick your brain...I just finished my undergrad in Business, and start the MBA program this fall."

"Any time you'd like. I'll be around for the foreseeable future," Bruce said. "I'm taking something of an extended break from the office to see how effectively Wayne Foundation dollars are being used. And since the school here is one of the more significant recipients of those dollars, I'm using that as an excuse to hang around for a while."

"I'm rather hoping they used the money to give that long-suffering moose in the office a raise," she decided. "Or bought Principal Winchester a lot of very expensive scotch."

Look, Emma had been a student. She was half-convinced that Zoe was a saint, insane, or both, to stay working with the students for so long.

"I should be able to ask about that. I'm supposed to meet with her at some point this week," Bruce said. "The privilege of being a donor."
