J,Gob, Friday morning

Dinah had gotten in very late last night, which mean two things: 1) she hadn't heard Radio yet, and 2) she'd left a handwavey voicemail for Priestly before collapsing in 'Dite's suite.

So now she had a chocolate-chip muffin, a chai tea, and reason to wonder why the J,GoB workers seemed to be acting out a Telemundo soap opera. With subtitles.

Priestly flashed her a vaguely flirtatious grin, clearly only into her for her body.

(What.)

"Yeah, or something. One of them had me sign her boob."

Which any other day, Priestly would be wide-eyed OMGOMGOMGOMG and possibly not telling Dinah. Now, it was a sly comment to make her jealous.

Because Priestly was a dick, you see. In case his behavior hadn't made that clear enough.

"You what?" Usually Dinah would be laughing by now. Even if her dialogue would've been the same. Today, for some reason, this was Awkward. She stared at him and said, "No, really, that's just-- you did not do that. Right?"

"I can't disappoint a fan, babe." Because Priestly was also now blithely famous. He was from California, after all. Everyone from California was blithely famous. "Oh, but, you know," he said as an afterthought. "I was totally thinking of you the entire time."

He didn't even remotely sound like he meant that.

She was an Author, after all. She clearly was a shining beacon of irresistible loveliness with totally realistic flaws that just added to her allure.

Dinah kept the impulse to say prettier than me? between her teeth only because someone, somewhere, liked it when she Suffered Silently better than when she was honest about her feelings. With a capital F.

"That's good," she said a little weakly. "So, are you going to see her again?" Please say no?

That was because they were slash fans. But that detail slightly lessened the dickishness of the statement, so it was left out entirely.

If she got to meet Patrick, she'd be sorry she said this.

"I, uh..." She'd been wanting to tell Priestly about the new developments and Glacia, and how buzzed she was for what was coming up, but now? Not so much. "Sooooo. I guess...."

Dinah smiled again, because everyone could have an off day, right? And Priestly didn't exist to meet her emotional needs.

See? Three dimensions!

"Yeah. Just a weird mood. Uh." Still a bit Awkward here, between the not-flirting and the random fan stuff. Finally, Dinah got back to, "Wanna do something fun later? Bowling, or oh oh oh we haven't run together in a while!" Yes! Maybe he'd be shirtless again!
