Stark Industries, Saturday

Jessica was having a plain old normal day at Stark's. nothing weird. Nothing notable. This lasted most of the morning and it was boring so that got changed.

Things picked up when Peter Parker - fresh from his sudden appearance on the island and costumed strip show at Caritas last night - walked in. "We'll, there's a familiar face. What are you doing here, Jessica?"

Jessica's face showed a grab bag of emotions. Confusion. Excitement. Arousal. Wait, what? More confusion. "I work here. I go to school here. What... Wait. Are you older than me?" And did that make him a little cuter? Wait, stop that. Focus on the important thing. He was older somehow and he wasn't dead. Was this a trick?

"I think we should probably write this off as Fandom being weird," Peter said. "I knew that already, of course. I mean, I haven't been here in years and the geography is different and Caritas is a strip club. So it's being weird, right?"

"Oh, yeah, definitely some weird stuff going on today," Jessica said, finding herself staring at his rugged jawline. Was her jaw that appealing?

"Well, since I seem to be here completely randomly, want some company while you're working?" Peter offered. "You can catch me up on what's going on in town right now." As a side benefit, maybe he'd get to smell her hair. No, no, there was nothing strange about that! It was just that she clearly took care of it. It was so bouncy. And probably smelled nice.

"Um. Sure. But first, and I can't explain why because there are legitimate timeline reasons for it as far as I can guess, but I need to give you a very awkward hug," she said, hopping over the counter to hug the DNA donor she had lost so many months ago.

It was way more awkward than she thought it would be. And it definitely lasted a little too long. And maybe it was a little hot, too. Which made it so much more awkward.

So yeah, this was what was happening at Stark's today.

[OOC: I can't sleep, so I'm posting now! Yay 3:45 AM! SP is expected if I ever do fall asleep, and/or late in the morning when I go see The Wolverine.

"So, let me get this straight," Peter said as he settled in behind the counter. "You're going to school now. I graduated however many years ago now. And I'm somehow like four years older than you. I really don't think that math works in any way."

"If there's one thing that should be clear by now, it's that alternate timelines are just all kinds of messed up and you just have to go with it," Jessica said. They also meant that this wasn't technically the Peter she was cloned from. Which was a weird thought on a number of levels.

"I guess I can't really complain about it if it means there's more chances to see you," Peter said, giving her hand a gentle pat.

Fighting the urge to swoon, Jessica said, "Good. Because I definitely want to see more of you."

So Megan had kinda figured out by now that some things were happening because she wanted them to, and she'd maybe begun to just randomly think things up to test that. And now she was just going around and seeing what was going on where and whether she should fix it or not.

"So what's going on in here?" she said brightly as she came in.

"Any kind of repairs you need. Electronics, robotics, small appliances, we can do it all," Jessica said, missing the point.

"Oh, I know, I watch," Megan assured her. "I mean what kind of hijinx are we getting into today!"

"I'm not sure what you're talking about," Jessica said, clearly a little confused. "I don't really get into hijinx here, I just fix stuff."

"You should fix that," Megan decided. "Hijinx are funnier, and you're really awesome at the comedy, I've been meaning to tell you that."

"I appreciate that," Jessica said. "Who are you, exactly?"

"Megan! I'm a huge fan," she said, and added, "You might have heard of me."

Because she got mentioned on radio now. AAAAAAAAAAAA SHE GOT MENTIONED ON RADIO NOW.

"Oh, wait. Are you the girl who barged in when Jaye was doing her broadcast?" Jessica asked. She knew the voice sounded kind of familiar.

"Yes I am!" Megan said proudly. "So I guess I'm like radio famous or whatever."

"Well, your voice is, at least. You probably have to get on there a few more times before people know you by name," Jessica admitted.

"I've been mentioned a ton of times, I'm sure everyone knows me."

Or they probably would by tomorrow, anyway.

"If they listen," Jessica pointed out. "I'm not sure everyone does."

"Everyone should," said she who watched every episode of Fandom High ever for eight years.

"Eh, we've got things to do, sleep-ins to have," Jessica pointed out.
