Demon Marcus, Sunday
Sparkle... still hadn't noticed that there was anything weird happening on the island. It wasn't that he had somehow managed to successfully avoid the crazy, so much. It was more that there was very little that he wouldn't do in the first place, so when he felt compelled to spend the day smoking cigarettes at the counter while checking out the latest summer fashions and placing orders for women's clothing that he'd totally wear, because fuck it, it wasn't exactly out of the ordinary.
Neither was that half-hour around midday that he spent dancing around the store singing I Feel Pretty while wearing six-inch heels and a feather boa.
Really, he just called this 'Sunday.'

For now, he was in town and stepping inside Demon Marcus because he hadn't been there before and he figured Sparkle would be around. If he was insane, well, Flick would just leave. And consider getting drunk.
"Having fun?" he asked when he stepped inside and saw the smoke around the counter. "Thought smoking was banned in most places."
no subject
Sparkle's indifference toward the rules, Flick. He'd show you it.
no subject
No wrong there. "This may be the one place I'd wanna be a cop. Get paid for doing nothing? That's the dream."
He still didn't wanna be a cop.
no subject
Sure it would.
"So, what brings you this way today, Flick? Just lookin' for some new clothes or something?"
no subject
He glanced down at his dirty jeans and battered tee shirt. " -- comfort."
Or cheap. It was probably cheap. And tattered. And dirty.
no subject
Well, not dirty. He was a bit of a freak when it came to personal hygiene.
"Fair enough," Sparkle replied with a shrug of his shoulders. "I can set you up for cheap if you ever change your mind, though. Sibling discount."
That he'd just made up.

"Guess I'm just visiting, then," Flick said since the question of clothing had been answered. "Haven't checked out a lot of the town."
And the places he had checked out tended to be alleys and dark corners.

"There's not too much to see," he noted. "Place is pretty small. The preserve is like ten times bigger on the inside than you'd think, though. If you're big on hanging out in the woods, getting eaten alive by frigging mosquitoes."

Sparkle was good at those.

"I'd probably take off to Baltimore," he admitted with a one shouldered shrug. "More for me to do. Plus, I've never been. It'd be educational!"
no subject
no subject
Because he didn't dance.
"But yeah, never been. Tended to stick to my small area of the world and didn't deviate."
He had his reasons.

Baltimore would be a closer fit to New York than this island which might mean a little more familiarity for some of Flick's...mental instability. He didn't think Jude would show up (he'd almost given up) but he still had some hope.
"Spontaneity's always more fun."
no subject
Maybe? Hopefully? Sparkle wanted to please, here, but he was mostly shooting in the dark.

"Uh, I dunno," he said, scratching his cheek. He was going to go with a few lies here for now. "I like electronics, I guess. I mean, tech's pretty cool if you know how to use it."
And he did.
no subject
Being, you know, a city, and all.
no subject
He'd steal it. And even a tail wouldn't stop him. "But, I'm not really that particular either. Walking around for hours is something I've done before too. I'm boring."
Not really.
