Stark Industries, Saturday

This was definitely not the way Jessica expected to start the day. She barely realized there was anything wrong as she made her way into work, at least until her spider-sense alerted her to the vampires silently swooping down to take a bite from her tasty neck flesh.

Long story short, she found herself shoving a couple of webbed up wakwaks into the back room here at Stark's and locking the hell out of it before cleaning up a few fresh cuts. Once she was cleaned up a bit, she put up a sign on the door to the back room saying "VAMPIRES! DO NOT OPEN!"

The wakwak weren't amused about their current predicament, but at least the upside of today's madness was that Jessica was unlikely to hear them struggling and screaming in the backroom.

The downside was that she probably couldn't hear the third wakwak throwing itself at the front door in a way that generated a very loud thump.

Time to find out, since the wakwak bashed against the door one final time, forcing it to open. It burst in, all screams, lashing out claws and talons first for--

The boombox. It was annoying.

The boombox dinged off the wakwak's head. It let out an unearthly screech, momentarily blinded, flailing around in an effort to reach Jessica.

The wakwak reached up and tore at the webs on its face. The distraction didn't make it less dangerous, though, as it hadn't forgotten about Jessica, the sharp talons on its feet were lashing out blindly.

Well, now the wakwak had removed the webbing from its eyes, but it had a boombox stuck to its back. Every positive had its negative. Wait... that wasn't how it worked.

It screamed again, locating Jessica with a glance. It shot forward, trying to grab her arms.

Screeching was a whole lot harder with a mouth full of webbing.

As was biting, apparently, not that it kept the wakwak from trying to chomp on... well, anything, really, judging by the way it was biting at thin air near Jessica's face.

It was enough to make the wakwak's head snap back, and it retreated quickly to avoid another blow.

It stretched its wings out as far as it could in the store and screamed, baring its teeth. And tongue. It had a very long tongue.

Both wings stuck to the ceiling like they belonged there. But while Jessica's kick certainly kept the creature from screaming, it didn't keep it from lashing out with its talons again. If it could just get near her stomach...

This was an extremely awkward position for a wakwak.

Stretched out with its talons to the floor and its wings to the ceiling, it could do little besides flail with its claws and stick its tongue out.
