Wayne Foundation, Tuesday

The really nice thing about being the boss was that once you had some workers and the office was in no danger of falling apart because you were fabulously wealthy, it didn't matter if you were seen to be goofing off. In fact, it could even be seen as a good thing. Say, if you were putting a golf ball around the office and because your NPC secretary didn't mind, it might make you seem affable and not, for example, like a cape-wearing lunatic who punches people until all crime goes away forever.

Bruce had some workers. He had some work going on whenever he was at a desk. He had an office handling bigger concerns in Gotham. And right now, he had a gentle touch and was getting the ball in a cup with almost evey putt. And at sentence sounded horribly filthy until it stopped making sense because golf.

Anyway, the office was open.

[OOC: Open, but slow due to RL office, of course.]

Maddie had heard this place was hiring, so she thought she should probably suck it up and actually ask for a job. She hadn't been at her last job for long enough to earn all of those six figures and her savings wouldn't last forever, after all.

"Mr. Wayne?" she guessed.

"Yeah," she said, trying to look all confident and hireable and stuff. "I heard you were looking for workers here?"

"Second thing," she said. "I don't have to know how to play golf, right?"

"Berry. Maddie Berry," she said, wishing she could go back in time and even think about making up a resume. "Um, I don't have a resume but I've also only had one job. Technically."

"I was kind of an assistant for... Well, it's sort of gone now." That's what happened when your boss ended up dying horribly via adamantium claw. "Jeremy Briggs ran it. The main point was using superpowers for altruism."

Mostly. Sigh, psychopaths.

Maddie looked really uncomfortable. "Uh. Superheroes. It turned out he had a side project that I totally didn't know about."

If nothing else, the Briggs job was turning out to be a bad decision because it sucked to explain when trying to get a job. "Mostly, a cure for superpowers," she said. "It's a long story, but we both came from somewhere where powers were being forced on kids. But he also did stuff like helping out kids in Haiti and things. That's really the sort of thing I want to do."

"...You haven't rejected me yet?" she asked.

Well you just became way more awesome than Giant-Man, Bruce.

"I think that's definitely something I want to be in on," she said, trying not to look too excited about it. Which she failed at.

"Well, Friday's kind of busy this semester. Maybe Monday? Does Monday work?" she checked.
