The Gig, Saturday

Dani was standing just outside the barn and sending "come hither" looks at the firemen next door at the Fandom Firehouse. Dani liked flirting with her cute firemen neighbors. But today she needed rescuing from some very determined mistletoe that was holding her in place.

The Gig was open. Be prepared to pucker up!

The good news was that Batman eventually got to the Batcave, got out of his costume, and changed into normal Bruce Wayne clothes. The bad news was that the mistletoe that had been on his cape was now all over his coat. This was not an improvement.

So he started taking a casual stroll around town to see if he could find anyone who might help him give the damn mistletoe what it apparently wanted. Because that was most decidedly not a job for the Dark Knight.

That's when he spotted Dani at the Gig. "Excuse me, do you need a hand there?"

"I could definitely use a hand! Thank goodness there are still some helpful people in this town," said Dani, raising her voice for the benefit of the firemen who hadn't exactly come to her rescue.

"Is it a mistletoe issue, or something else?" Bruce asked as he made his way over. "I know a few things about the first one." He raised his arms for emphasis. To be fair, his coat DID look very Christmassy.

In spite of her situation, Dani couldn't help laughing. "Well, you certainly look festive. Yes, I seem to be having a little trouble with mistletoe, too. It latched onto my hair and won't let go," she explained, giving a tug on the mistletoe to demonstrate. "I've been stuck in this doorway for a while."

"Well, I could give you a haircut," Bruce said. "But the easier solution is a little more intimate. I'm Bruce, by the way."

"Nice to meet you, Bruce, I'm Dani. And I'm a little attached to my hair, so I'd prefer to avoid a haircut," she said. "So I'm guessing there's only one way to deal with mistletoe?"

"You catch on quick," Bruce said. "I usually like to at least buy a woman dinner or a drink before I make a move. But with a situation like this, I'm just going to check if there's any kind of significant other we'll have to explain this to before it makes the radio."

"Good thinking! I hadn't even considered what the radio squirrels would make of this," said Dani. "And there's nothing to worry about. I seem to be perpetually single."

"I have experience with the media," Bruce said. "And everyone else's loss is our gain for the moment. That means it's not a problem if we enjoy this."

And with that, Bruce lifted his hand to caress Dani's cheek as he went in for a kiss. If he was going to save the day here, he was going to do it with style.

Dani was certainly going to enjoy being "rescued." She tilted her head upwards (did she have to be so short?), closed her eyes, and leaned in for a kiss.

It was okay. Bruce was used to kissing shorter women.

It wasn't long at all before the mistletoe started falling off his coat.

Dani was relieved to feel the mistletoe loosening its grip on her hair. Of course, she didn't want to lose any hair, so it seemed best to let the kiss linger a bit longer to make sure she was free of the mistletoe. Besides, it had been a little while since she kissed anyone, and she was enjoying it.

Bruce believed in being very thorough. That was why he started running his hand through her hair. You know. To make sure there weren't any complications as the mistletoe let go.
