The Perk, Sunday Late Afternoon Into Evening
Sam had woken up this morning with the sudden desire to play her new strategy game in the park, but the cold had thwarted her rather quickly.
However, the Perk made a decent substitute, and it offered coffee. Sam sucked down a caramel macchiatto as she sized up the board, slowly and precisely sizing up her options one move at a time.
This game was tricky. Sam adored it.

Hi to you, too.

"Oh, hello," she said. She didn't seem to have much of a reaction to the zipping around. Biotics did that all the time, after all. "It's called Gwyddbwyll." Her pronounciation was a little awkward, though she was hoping it wasn't obvious. "It's a bit like chess, but Welsh and somewhat faster to get through a game. If you'd like to play, I'd love the break from playing against myself," she offered.

...
"Or simple, manageable games, apparently."

That was probably a joke. A person couldn't really be that dense, right?

"I'm just that dedicated to finding quality ways to pass the time," she proclaimed. Except not. At all. She explained, "It was a gift, actually. Would you like to learn? I can't promise I'll be the best teacher, though."

"Right, so there's two sides," she began, appending, "obviously. There's the defending team and the attackers. The defending team tries to move the king piece - that's this large one here - all the way to any of the four corners, which only the king piece can occupy. The attacking team is trying to prevent that. Each piece can move forward, backward, left or right, by the way, but not diagonally, like a rook in chess. The goal is to capture the opponent's pieces by trapping any one opposing piece between two of your own: one piece on either side. Or, if it's the king piece, all four sides. The attacker wins if the king gets captured, and the defender wins if the king can reach a corner."
She took a breath. "That might have made no sense at all. Sorry about that, if that's the case."
[[sorry, i forgot to consider that i would need time to learn the rules first...]]

[OOC: And the supervillain makes up his own rules anyway. Mwahahahaha.]

Okay, it was definitely comical.
"Well, you're only supposed to move one at a time..." Maybe he didn't know?
Oh, he knew.

This just went to show that people who Vanguard-charged were jerks. Even if he probably didn't call the speed-running that.
"I hope this isn't rude, but are you an adult?" There was no need to be so British, Sam. It was fine to be rude!

PEW.
He was gone again.

What an odd day.

Speed Demon had succeeded in frustrating her quite a bit. Supervillainy: achieved.
