The Perk, Monday evening

"What's your most expensive drink?" Speed Demon asked the barista. "Because I'll have a large of that and you'll get an extra tip if you just go ahead and add some of this." He handed over a flask and a twenty dollar bill. "It's a celebratory night, but I also need some coffee. Been a long day."

After about half a minute he added, "There's extra money in it if you hurry it up already."

Another ten seconds, "Fine, no deal. You'll be lucky if I even pay for it."

Five seconds, "What do you mean I have to pay first? That's unfair. This is America."

It was kind of amazing that this guy was patient enough to rob a bank a couple hundred miles away earlier today.

One day Kitty was going to have to curb this "drinking coffee at night" thing, but that day was not today. So as she was standing in line, she was checking out the costume and trying to figure out if she recognized it.

"It was weird before I noticed and you're just going to have to live with that," Speed Demon said. "And I'm the guy who's going to write a really nasty review on Yelp because these guys are crazy slow."

"On Yelp?" Speed Demon asked. "FastComplaints123."

He wasn't going to give his supervillain name to her. She'd google him, find a Daily Bugle article about the last time he got arrested, and then he'd get an arrow up his ass. He was trying to put that off as long as possible.
