Alumni event- Community center- Friday evening

It'd been a while since the last alumni event on island, so someone had gone all out with this one.

Or maybe the Olympics were a good theme and it was easy to go overboard with it. Whatever.

The place had been done up in Olympic colors, which... okay, and of course there was glitter which may have been left over from a past event and multiplied in that time. And going with the multicultural theme of the Olympics, there were even ~~moddable~~ snacks and drinks from other countries. Might as well try some new things every once in a while!

Or you could just watch the coverage on the TV and make fun of the USA's outfits.

Jaina had finally gotten some time away from home, which just so happened to coincide with the event in Fandom. Funny how that happened.

She got herself a drink and looked to see if anyone she knew showed up, at least when she wasn't busy wondering what people were wearing on the TV.

"I'd almost forgotten just how weird this planet can be," Tahiri said, coming up from somewhere behind Jaina as if she'd been trying to sneak up on her.

She might actually have been trying. Shh.

"See, that's why you have to come back once in a while. To remind yourself," Jaina said, turning to her and smiling. "You made it."

"I had to, since I gave you such a hassle about doing the same," Tahiri answered, grinning. "Will the Council get by without you for a couple of days? Do you need me to write you an excuse note?"

"Funny," Jaina said, but her smile got a little lopsided. "They just pull me in when they need Sword stuff. They can do without me for a bit, and if not, they'll be calling."

Oh, the benefits of being able to show up via hologram.

"Thank the Force for the HoloNet," Tahiri agreed, with a crooked little smile of her own. "Who knew, huh? When Luke made that prophecy and shook us all up back then, it was going to turn out this way? And involve so many meetings?"

"Not me. Definitely not me," Jaina said, shaking her head. "I'm way more used to getting called in there to get yelled at. I'm starting to feel respectable or something."

"The Jaina I know would never be respectable," Tahiri said, one corner of her mouth twitching because she couldn't actually say that with a straight face. "Not by Council standards, anyhow. It's a good thing I don't want to mess with timelines, because I'd love to see my Jaina's face if I told her that. Please tell me you at least do something every now and then to keep them on their toes?"

"It's me. There is no danger of me losing my hard-earned reputation as the source of everyone's probable ulcers," Jaina said. "I say it like that and it sounds bad..."

Tahiri burst out laughing. "It sounds just fine to me."

That probably didn't make it sound any better.

"Of course it does," Jaina said wryly. "So how long are you able to pull yourself away to be here?"

"Maybe three or four days, if I'm lucky," Tahiri answered, then smirked faintly. "Just long enough for something interesting to happen, no doubt."

"Oh, don't say that," Jaina said immediately. "I could do without 'interesting.'"

"It's Fandom," Tahiri pointed out. "You're bound to get some degree of interesting one way or another."

"Think we can wish the island into sticking with a rain of candy, or something?" Jaina asked, a little hopefully.

A lot hopefully.

"Has it ever worked before?" Tahiri, don't crush her hopes like that. "I guess there's a first time for everything."

Bod hadn't visited Fandom in awhile so he thought he'd make a short trip while he had the time. The alumni event provided the perfect excuse so he arrived and tried not to feel old.

Jo had been in the area and it'd been a while since she'd been on the island, so here she was.

She didn't remember the island being quite so glittery.

Stuff your face!

Lex made a beeline straight for the drinks. Basically the only thing he was actually learning at Met U was the importance of social lubrication.

I would LIKE to be able to watch the opening ceremony...
