Former Hyperion Dig Site, the Unexplored Wooded Area, Monday Afternoon
People didn't come here often. There was, after all, a reason why it was the unexplored wooded area: it had any number of nooks and crannies, a significant amount of trees and no real clear passageway through. But it had been disturbed and recently at that. Though moss and weeds and other plants and animals had already moved in to fill up the gaps, there was still a conspicuous clear spot where the worst of the digging had occurred.
On top of that spot rested, pristine and untouched, a machine that could be used to manipulate the weather on Fandom Island in particular. Among other uses, still undiscovered, that would likely make Handsome Jack very upset that he hadn't taken the item in question after all.
But for now, it just laid there - as it should be laying in the security office right now.

The dig site, once she located it, was pretty obviously the location where something big had happened. She'd never seen so much land just stripped bare before. And whatever that thing was that was sitting in the middle of the chaos...
She frowned a little as she approached it, ignoring the whispers and murmurs and shadows of people who were no longer there all skittering around the edges of her vision. But when, against her better judgement, she reached out to touch the machine, the echoes of what had happened here, of people fighting and dying and coming back to fight again, against people with loud weapons and large, wicked looking machines, all grew so loud that she stumbled backwards in shock, a sheet of ice spreading across the ground underfoot as sound and fury and the chaos of battle twisted around her...
And then it faded again to a dull roar as she backed away.
This had been a mistake. She frowned back at the dig site as she made her way back into the woods, a trickle of blood making its way down her face from her nose, tickling her upper lip. She didn't regret making the effort, but whatever this was, it was beyond her ability to do anything of any use, here.
