Fandom Post Office, March 25 (Tuesday)
Éponine wasn't sure why she'd even bothered to come in to work this morning, what with the river of lava that had been flowing through her neighborhood (such as it was) and the dinosaurs and Vikings and whatnot running about. She knew all kinds of ways to get around the island, that was true, but today had stretched her creativity to the limit.
. . . and mostly, she was here now because she didn't care to go back out into all that. Here, and rifling through absolutely everything in the post office to see if she could improvise a weapon of some sort.
No, she wasn't stupid enough to go out and try to fight the things, but she did have an interest in keeping them the hell out of here, didn't she? Speaking of which, she pulled out her phone and laboriously picked out a quick text message to Cosette: it's interesting out today isn't it but don't be stupid. She didn't expect it to make a difference, really.
[OOC: Open post, amazingly OCD-free for once.]

i don't see how you'd know that unless youre being stupid yourself.
She was, it should be noted, out on the school grounds at the time, close enough to the gate to look out down Apocalypse Avenue and see what was going on.

we dont all get to live in castles little lark. i didnt fancy being swallowed by the great fiery river in the street near my digs.
That message was quickly followed by another, as if she'd guiltily decided to be a little more informative after all. She might still consider Cosette an interloper in her life, but they'd had to learn to rely on each other to survive after a while, the two of them and Azelma, and even if they came from different realities it seemed to still hold true for them both. The connection wasn't one of love or familial obligations, but sometimes necessity created bonds just as strong, or stronger.
i ran to the post office. theres enormous lizards and people waving swords about.

but look here i'm off to the library soon. have you got any new leads?

yes. odd cove with a gun ran down the street this morning just before all the racket started. saw him as i was leaving for work.
She sent that, then started picking out the next message:
things only started appearing after he passed through.
She didn't have any fancy education in science, but she knew that couldn't be a good thing.

Aww, look, Cosette. She cared. Sort of.

She didn't bother trying to tell Éponine not to go out there if she could help it; it would be extremely hypocritical of her, if she did.
