Trooper Station, Thursday

Okay. This whole thing - whatever the whole thing was - was starting to be a pain in the ass. So the moment Tamsin found out those kids in the library had figured out who was behind this... well, she had a couple of wanted posters drawn up and distributed.

As a final touch, she'd nailed one to the front of the station, underneath the words FIND THIS GUY AND KICK HIS ASS.

She'd added another sign, too: WANT TO HELP? INQUIRE INSIDE. She wasn't above letting all these overeager idiots kick some monkeyponies in the tail for her. Especially not when the ringing phone wasn't letting her go out and do the kicking for them.

[[ open! strike teamers, want a place to ICly gather up? go right ahead. non-strike teamers, want a reason to go out and fight something? come inside! ]]

"So, you got any idea where to find that jerk?" Jack asked, swaggering in in a way that was rather impressive for a relatively petite woman. "'Cause I'm glad we've figured out which ass-kicking to start with."

She'd had a throwdown with a mummy on her way to the trooper station. She was in no mood for any of this.

"Doesn't really narrow things down," Jack said unhappily. "Lots of empty buildings in the warehouse district, too. He could be holed up in one of them."

[identity profile] psychoticbiotic.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"Good idea," Jack nodded. "Even if we don't find him, we can keep the rugrats from getting eaten by bears. Good day's work."

"Thrown crap's way above my pay grade," Jack informed her.

[identity profile] psychoticbiotic.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, this shit I do for free," Jack sighed. "Guess I'm just too good a person."

Uh-huh. Sure.

"How can I help?" Cade asked, wiping harpy blood off of his lightsaber hilt as he walked in.

That one had gotten nasty.

[identity profile] makemyownway.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oooh," Cade said. "Aggressive negotiations! Count me in."

[identity profile] makemyownway.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Cade eyed Jack with interest, smiling. "How do you know how far down they go?"

You know, just making small talk.

[identity profile] makemyownway.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Cade burst out laughing. "Her first commander's name," he guessed. "Just so when she told him to kiss it, he'd know where to go."

[identity profile] psychoticbiotic.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Jack eyed him. "Have to say, Cade, this is the first time I've appreciated your new Boy Scout routine."

[identity profile] makemyownway.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, it's only right that the people with training protect those who don't," Cade said, nodding earnestly.

[identity profile] psychoticbiotic.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Right on," Jack smirked behind her hand. "You remind me way too much of my old commander right now."

She was still angry people were getting mindwiped and worse. But at the same time, it was hard to dislike this version of Cade.

[identity profile] makemyownway.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Is that a good thing?" Cade checked. Mindwiped or not, he still wanted her approval.

[identity profile] psychoticbiotic.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, it is," Jack told him. "Just ... if anybody ever asks you to go into some giant alien robot spaceship to save the universe, say no."

[identity profile] makemyownway.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. Remind him about that in about ten years...

"Okay," Cade said, nodding. "One way trip?"

[identity profile] psychoticbiotic.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"Didn't even find her helmet," Jack nodded. "But, hey, I'm still around so maybe she did something right."

Or maybe it was just a stupid, pointless death. But knowing Shepard ... okay. It was probably both.

Cade smiled. "I come from a long line of heroic do-gooders, so I get it."

Since to all accounts they were looking for a person behind all this, Bo had left the heavy artillery at home today. Which meant she only had a bow, a sword, and three strategically-hidden knives when she walked in.

Also a flying piranha caught in her hair. "Mother pusbucket, will you just die already?" She shook it out onto the nearest counter and jammed the hilt of her sword down on its head.

"Good morning to you too, sunshine!" Bo flicked the really most sincerely dead piranha off the counter, kicked it out said screen door, then closed it as requested. "There. Ass inside, fish outside. Happy?"

"How the heck did a delicate, poetic flower like you end up fighting crime?" Bo asked, sitting on it. Or something.

"That's fair. Pretty much how I got into security minus the cop part and not so much going to school as beating up a vampire while trespassing on school grounds."

Bo shrugged. "Eh, depends on the vampire." Mitchell: kind of broody, not especially gross. Eric: not broody at all, but the ear thing. "This one was more everything you don't kill teenagers for only because you know they'll grow out of it, except she'd never grow out of it."

Aeryn couldn't read the signs, but she did recognize what a primitive wanted sign here might look like, and that was enough to get her in there.

"What needs to be done?" she asked, because someone here must have a better idea than 'wander around and kill things,' right? (Though Aeryn was fine wandering around and killing things.)

"Which ones are the dinosaurs?" checked the new girl. She'd figure it out once she got there but she wanted to be prepared weapon-wise.

[identity profile] imnotgoodatnice.livejournal.com 2014-03-27 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, the lizard things. I'll take the dinosaurs." She had no idea where the butcher shop was. "I'm sure something else will pop up on the way, too."

Oh good she was getting the hang of this place.

Red saw the notice as she was passing by on her way to, well, fight anything that wanted a fight. Ducking into the station naturally followed.

"This is the man responsible for our difficulties?" she asked, pointing to the nearest poster.
