Another week, another shift at the bar. Things were kind of back to normal now (even if Kenzi had a sock monkey concealed in her purse), so time for more specials.

And another Cecil! Well, the same Cecil as last week, since that needed to be specified.

"Hi, Kenzi!"

"Hey dude!" Kenzi poured an Income Tax drink for Cecil, then slid it down the bar. "Catch!"

"Whoops!" Cecil dove for the drink and caught it just in the nick of time. "Got it!" It sloshed a little, and he licked it off his fingers. "Not bad!" He grinned at Kenzi. "How was your weekend?"

"Quiet. And unexpectedly Scottish, yesterday." Kenzi gave him a small smile. "You? Anything exciting or unexpected happen over Prom for you? Man, I'm glad no kids showed up." She was so not ready for that right now.

"Only the kilt." His had been sparkly. And possibly partially in another dimension. "Foucault got one, too! He was all grumpy about it."

Kenzi laughed and got herself a soda, snickering around the can. "Pix or it didn't happen, but you so better have made sure it did."

"Are you kidding? Of course!" Cecil grinned wider and dug out his phone, finding a picture of a very grumpy Foucault with a purple-and-pink kilt on.

"That poor, poor flamingo..."

"He was so adorable, though!" Cecil was giggling all over again, seeing it. "And the colors really set off his feathers."

"Sometimes the Island wants to mess with us. And sometimes it just wants to dress us up." Kenzi snickered, shaking her head. "So, you go to the dance, or call Caaarlos to tell him how you miss him?"

"I didn't think Freshmen could go?" Cecil shrugged. He hadn't been too bothered by it. "And I always call ♥Carlos♥ whenever I can."

He sighed soppily into his drink.

"Oh, I went, but then, I had a date with someone who was an upperclassman," Kenzi said, trying to remember. "Or maybe I was an upperclassman. Enh. Either way." She grinned. "Sneak in and spike the punch next time. You got plans for the summer, yet?"

"Not really." Cecil shrugged. "I mean, I need to stay here as much as possible for growing-up purposes, but I might go visit home again just for a little. What about you?"

"Nothing on the agenda. Although I'm trying to talk Eponine into teaching a class with me on something." Kenzi grinned a little. "Any suggestions for a summer workshop?"

"Oo, Evocation!" Cecil bounced a bit. "You know, summoning things?"

He possibly had an ulterior motive. Like hopefully being able to make things glitch so he got tentacles again. Assuming that was what had caused them on his other self. But it would be a fun class regardless, right?

Kenzi paused, blinking. "...I'd have to learn how to do that first. Although I guess we could fake it?"

"I probably have some old high school text books; I could get ♥Carlos♥ to send them to me. It'll be fun!"

Or a disaster. At least one of the two.

"Lemme check with 'Ponine first, and-- uh. What does an invocation do?"

"It depends on what you're summoning." Cecil shrugged.

"I want to summon a lot of money!"

"Oo, I've never tried that before!" Cecil thought about it. "It's generally for summoning beings, though. Are there any beings made out of money?"

"Donald Trump? But his hairpiece scares me." Kenzi looked thoughtful. "Santa?"

He had to be real somewhere, right?

"Santa's not made of money!" Cecil protested. "He's just a bunch of governmentally sedated bears."

"Governmentally-- why would they sedate bears?"

Talking to Cecil was *always* an adventure.

"Who knows?" Cecil shrugged and drank the thing she'd slid to him. "I suppose it could be to keep the death count down, but it's just as likely to be so they're easier to get into the suits."

Kenzi stared at him a moment. "That sounds so wrong. And kinda dirty."

"One of the reasons it's best not to question the government," Cecil answered with a firm nod.

Zzzz.
