The Causeway, Wednesday Afternoon

Liara had worked at the book shop for quite some time now. The money it afforded her couldn't be spent on clothes alone: she did not enjoy shopping and she owned enough now that she had something to wear for each day of the week. And while she enjoyed her workplace's selection, there were some specialized works that would simply never see the inside of that shop.

So she had decided to go shopping for books in Baltimore. She had located a large store that claimed to sell more than their fair share of archaeological tomes, and she was excited about the prospect.

She had not wanted to go alone, however; so she had left Yeul a message, and now she waited patiently at the causeway.

[[ liara's last post on the island for the first half of summer, not that she knows. open, both for liara-visiting and using-the-causeway reasons. ]]

Patience was a good thing to have when waiting on Yeul, since she tended to walk idly along rather than pick up the pace and hurry anywhere.

But she was pleased Liara had asked for her company and, so, when she finally reached the causeway, she smiled sunnily at Liara. "Hello!" she said cheerfully. "I hope you did not mind waiting on me."

"You're welcome," Yeul replied, though it didn't really need thanks as far as she was concerned. "Were you looking for a particular book off-island? I must admit, I rarely go to Baltimore."

She was looking forward to it, in her own way.

Yeul followed, unsure of what the Egyptian Pharaohs were, but willing to trust in Liara's opinion on the matter.

"Perhaps the island is a fan," she suggested mildly, smiling at the thought. "Though it is inconvenient for you, if that is the case!"

She laughed softly.

"Yes," Yeul said, taking a few steps forward. "Though perhaps it would not hurt to ask at a later date?"

It really was too late to ask today, since they were already going.

"If you're not comfortable, there is no need to," Yeul conceded, wandering after Liara, who quickly caught up to her.

Yeul stopped mostly because Liara did, her gaze serene as she took in the unfamiliar locale.

"I don't believe this is Baltimore," she said, sounding vaguely amused. "Do you suppose they'll have your bookstore here?"

That was… Yeul's largest 'concern' about their unexpected arrival at wherever they were, yes.

"Most things can be simple on occasion," Yeul said, glancing at Liara. "What has been made simple this time?"

"Oh my." Yeul watched the skycar curiously, and then laughed. "I have no explanations, except that this may be an example of Fandom Island being kind, but really..."

She smiled.

"The only thing I can think of to say is 'welcome home, Liara'."

"I do not mind," Yeul said simply, still smiling, since there was no other possible answer.

She tilted her head slightly. "Will it cause difficulties that I have come with you?"

Which wouldn't bother Yeul, but she didn't want to impose on Liara...

"There hardly ever is," Yeul commented cheerfully. She didn't even bother to look behind her. "I do not think I look much like an asari, but I shall follow your lead. Will your mother be home at this time?"

"So we will be able to get inside?" Yeul checked, though standing around outside was hardly a terrible fate, all things considered.

She followed after Liara, still unconcerned about the fact she was in a different universe unexpectedly.

Yeul grinned slightly as she took the beanie.

"Thank you," she said cheerfully, doing as advised. It was a bit awkward over her head-piece but that didn't bother Yeul. Tugging it forward to shade her face, Yeul glanced at Liara. "Is this better?"

Yeul... still was not concerned about needing the benefit of the doubt. But she smiled again and let that go, since it mattered to Liara.

"It's a very lovely park," Yeul said, pleased. "It's very different from anything I've seen before."

"No," Yeul said agreeably. "Not quite like human cities. Humans may get to this point, but the asari will have gone far past it by the time they do."

She smiled. "After we meet your mother, I should like to see more of your home, if you do not mind."
