Nikolai was actually riding a bit of an adrenaline high, no mood crystal necessary, when he made his way to the desk for his shift today, still wearing the leather duster that he'd spent his night in Baltimore wearing.
Okay, adrenaline, and the life energy of some thug that had thought, mistakenly, that shooting at him and missing was a bad idea. He'd sort of been like the icing on the cake after a productive Friday night spent crimefighting, and while Nick was going to be hugging a coffee cup later just to get through the last few hours of his shift, for the time being he was riding tier three and feeling no pain.
