The Park [Tuesday Afternoon]
It was the flamingos that caught his eye.
The last time Hatter had seen anything like them, he and Alice had been flying away on their mechanical brethren. These flamingos were decidedly not mechanical and Hatter stopped by the pond, head tilted. The flamingos continued to ignore him even while he watched.
"You lot aren't for riding, are you?" Hatter asked, not expecting a reply. "What good are you, then?"
Honestly, what did flamingos even do besides provide a bit of color to a sometimes dull landscape? The flamingos continued to ignore him and Hatter sent them a bit of a glare before he settled himself on one of the benches and stretched his legs out.
He took his hat off and fanned himself with it, almost yearning for Wonderland's constantly grey skies and cooler weather. Being in a spot where seasons suddenly existed again was slightly off putting. In front of him, the flamingos walked around, seemingly content.
"Oh sure, rub it in," he muttered, shaking his head. "You can't even fly!"
[Park post is open, couldn't help myself.]
