The Park: Tuesday
Vic decided that the day was too nice to be sitting behind a desk in the police station. So she "delegated" all her paperwork to Ralph and took the initiative to "patrol" Fandom.
Which meant taking a walk through the park and drinking an iced coffee from the Perk.
Hey, she's more likely to find someone perpetuating a crime here than sitting at a desk!

He was using his hat as a fan while he stood near the flamingos, giving them quiet looks. Hey, at least he wasn't talking to them this time. He'd learned that they didn't talk back.
When he noticed someone unfamiliar, he gave a friendly wave with his hat and said, "Hot day, isn't it?"

"Beats me. Seems like regular summer weather to me," she replied. "After the beating we took over the winter I'm not going to complain."

He slid his jacket off and rolled up his sleeves. "Probably my own fault, though, right? Bloody dunce, I am."

And he had little to no money.

Well it just made sense not to wear a jacket in 80 degree weather right?
"I've got a leather jacket from home but you don't see me wearing it."

That was a joke even if he did think it brought out his eyes. "Tell me, is there any decent place to get clothes around here? So far, all I've found is multiple bars and places to eat."
no subject
"There's a place called Demon Marcus over on Minotaur Lane," Vic suggested. "You might be able to find some second hand clothing store over on the mainland though."
no subject
Or he couldn't leave just yet. It was probably that.

She was steadfastly trying to ignore the supernatural possibilities there.
"As for being a fish out of water, you don't look too out of sorts for the mainland."

He even nodded. "It does my heart good. A very nice welcome for me even if it's a few weeks late."

And he worked in a place with copious amounts of food? Brilliant. "How charming this place is becoming with each day that passes."

See, friendly.

You know. Be a nice face for the sheriff's department.
"Hi. How are you today?"

That part she got!

She knew her failings. They were tech work and 'how are you.'

"Wow," Vic replied and inserting an awkward pause as she mulled that over for a second. "You're not pulling my leg are you? Because no offense, when I think of someone from another galaxy I'm thinking something out of Space Battles or Lightning Bug. I mean... you look more like me."
You know. Human.
