Book Haven, Wednesday, 7/23
Of course the giant box sitting atop the counter at Book Haven wasn't full of Halloween decorations. That would be silly, and far too much of a coincidence.
It was full of rubber chickens instead.
Alana took a few and tried to pose them holding the books in the window display. It didn't work so well; their wings weren't really attached at the right angle to hold anything. But she was determined, and after a while she had propped up a chicken reading a poultry cookbook. (So maybe her mind was a little sick.)
