Dite's Decadent Delights [Tuesday]

This whole 'teaching' idea was growing more appealing every day -- Irene's limited experience with the younger denizens of the island had been, thus far, fairly positive, and for a laugh, she'd actually sat down and started putting together a syllabus for a totally theoretical class after talking to Kitty about it.

Today found her actually researching all of the class topics she'd listed on her laptop behind the counter at the shop -- she may have been an expert in her field, but no one knew everything, after all.

But it was still totally hypothetical, of course. She was just doing this for fun. (And kept finding herself sucked into Wikipedia black holes, too, but that was part of the fun.)

It was a mystery for the ages how Derek always managed to creep around like a cat to show up when you least expect him. Though this time it might have been due to being in a porn shop.

"You know, you ought to be careful," Irene said, glancing up from her computer. "You're liable to startle a person creeping around like that."

"How are you today, darling Derek?"

Derek made a face at the pet name, but didn't comment on it. "I need to buy something."

That was, indeed, why many people went to stores.

Irene leaned her chin in her hand, smiling at him. "Are you enjoying what you got last time?"

As though she'd allow additional purchases without teasing him at least a little.

"Yes," Derek ground out. Oh, like he'd make it easy on her.

But she was merciful enough to make it easy on him. For now.

"More of the the same, then, or something new?"

Maybe not that easy on him.

"Something new. It's for him." This time. For reasons.

Irene actually clapped her hands together, just the once. "I have got to meet this boyfriend of yours," she decided. "What sort of treats are we picking out for him, then? And does he know, or is it a surprise?"

She loved surprises, just saying.

"It's a surprise." And Derek had the feeling he needed to keep Stiles away from this place for his own sanity. "Before he leaves."

Irene actually softened a little at that, dropping the teasing for the moment. "Leaves?"

"For college."

That's right. He was a big ol' creepy cradle robber.

"Like 'em young, do you?" Don't worry, Derek. So did she.

Derek flinched regardless. Because dear god all those issues.

"I like him." That was either creepy or romantic. It was debatable.

"Good," she said, smiling at him as reassuringly as she knew how. So apparently she fell on the side of 'romantic.' "And god knows, you're practically a baby still, yourself, aren't you? The age gap can't possibly be that wide."

She figured that might have been the reason behind the flinch.

"So what are we getting for your prospective uni student, then?"

"I don't know," he admitted. "I was thinking--"

Derek needed to stop eyeing the S&M area.

Irene followed his gaze and raised a brow. "Have the two of you experimented with that sort of thing, already?" she asked, nodding to that particular section delicately. It was a very broad question, but she was trying to prevent this tiny boyfriend of his from being too surprised.

"He's tied me up." Yep, that's the way it went. "We had a--a survey about things. Before the relationship became physical."

"That's remarkably safe of you two," Irene said, approvingly. "Good, then, because that area? Bit of a specialty of mine."

That may have been an understatement.

"So are we thinking...more restraints? Blinds? Gags? Or something for him to use, that skirts that lovely line between pleasure and pain?"

Just a tiny understatement! Like it was an understatement that Derek could handle some pain.

"We talked about rings." Mid-sex so they might have just been high on endorphins.

"What's your fancy?" Irene asked, leading the way over to precisely that section. "Leather? Rubber? Silicone? Metal? I'll warn you that that last one can be a bit much, if you're just starting out."

Not that she knew from firsthand experience, but she'd always been one to monitor a client's experience.

Derek frowned at everything. It was a contemplative frown, though. "What's good to start?"

"Silicone," Irene said, consideringly, plucking one such model off a shelf. "It stretches and it's generally very easy to keep clean. And you can build from there -- steel's rather the be-all and end-all, from what I hear, but you'll want to work your way up."

"Silicone then," Derek replied definitively. "In case we decide it's not what we want."

"Might as well start building a collection," Irene added with a small smile. "You two are doing the long-distance thing once he's at school, yeah? This isn't a...last hurrah sort of thing?

Oh, good, Irene, start asking the relationship questions over cock rings. That's normal.

"It's a long distance thing." He certainly hoped. "If he didn't come back, he wouldn't get any laundry done."

"I'm sure that's not the only reason," Irene told him seriously. "He has to eat, too."

"That too," Derek said, seeming to relax a little more at that. "Is there anything else I should--try. For later."

Yes, reasons for Stiles to come back to visit.

"How hardcore are you thinking, luv?" she asked, actually not teasing for once. "Because I can recommend whips and crops and cuffs up and down, but it's all going to depend on your pain tolerance and whether that sounds like fun for you."

"I don't know," he replied sullenly. "We've liked everything we've tried so far."

"What'd he tie you down with?" Irene decided that was a good tack to pursue. "Let's start there. You look like a rather strong person. We ought to get you something you'd have no hope of getting out of."

"His tie." Derek neglected to say he could break out of most of the restraints in the store. "It was."

He faltered, because wow was this person.

"It was about control."

"I've really got to meet this boy of yours," Irene said, smiling slightly. "We could talk shop, by the sounds of it."

Because really. A tie was marvelously resourceful.

"Has he blindfolded you?" Because if control -- and handing it over -- did it for him, that'd be a good one to try, too.

Derek shook his head. "Should he?"

"If control and the relinquishing thereof does it for you? Abso-fucking-lutely, he should," Irene said, dead serious. "But you can just use that tie of his for that, or something. No need to like, buy a blindfold."

"We could try it," Derek replied slowly. He could still hear and smell everything, so it wouldn't be too bad. These were super serious concerns.

"And if control's your thing -- and you're not averse to pain, by the sounds of it...."

Irene wandered over to a shelf, and slowly selected a riding crop. "This brand's my favorite," she said, offering it out to him. "Won't leave welts, if he does it right. You ought to do a bit of Googling, if you're worried -- or, again, I'd be happy to have a conversation with the lad."

And she wouldn't even pry! Much!

Derek eyed it for a moment. "I'd have to talk to him first."

He didn't think springing a crop would go over well. And not because welts didn't last on him anyway.

"I can suggest he come by though. It's. Complicated."

Irene raised a brow. "Good. Talk to him," she encouraged. "Seriously, if this -- " she waved the crop around at the other BDSM gear, "--is something you're considering, communication is key. And I really do know my stuff, if questions arise. I'm a...bit of a professional, honestly."

Aww, Derek got to know a secret about her that no one else knew, here! Bonding.

"I don't want him to say yes just because I'm interested."

Whoa there with the serious thoughts.

"...hmm." Irene eyed him curiously. "Do you think that your being interested might make him interested? Sex is funny, that way."

"Sex can be a lot of things," Derek replied sourly.
