As Anders walked through town, he felt a certain foreboding chill in the air that made him grateful he'd spent most of the past week in a bizarre internet trance. Something about the lights in the park spelled trouble -- and he was just as glad to steer clear of that when he could.
He flopped into a chair behind the counter and looked about the shop thoughtfully. The paper mache bats near the ceiling were adorable, of course, and it was easy enough to nab and unwrap a bit of chocolate from the candy dishes -- but what more could he add? He went to unpack a few boxes of books while he considered the question.
