The Jail, Monday morning

SO EMBARRASSING. God, don't even talk to Kenzi.

"I want my lawyer. And a shrink!" And thank God she'd dumped the stolen card as soon as she'd gotten that hotel room for herself.

... "I can post bail! With my own money!"

The stormtroopers remembered how the coffee machine worked now. Yay for them.

Hmm. Sucking up couldn't hurt. So Kenzi sent Nick a pizza, with the note:
WELL-PLAYED, SIR. TELL THE GOAT NO HARD FEELINGS?

Then ordered one for herself to be delivered to jail past the stormtroopers, who were still ignoring her.

Was Tamsin still crabby? Tamsin was still crabby. "Oh, now what have we got?" she called. "Whatever it is, can someone kick it in the balls?!"

She'd be down to the cells in a minute.

And oh, look. There was Tamsin, right in front of Kenzi's cell, crossing her arms and tilting her head.

"You have rights," she said flatly. "If you didn't, I'd have scotch taped your mouth shut by now."

"I don't know, and I don't care," Tamsin replied. "You're annoying me."

"You gotta do better than that," Tamsin said dryly.

"You might want to start by not trying to bribe an officer of the law," Tamsin said.

She was lucky she wasn't Fae, honestly. "Bail's not up to me."

"Sheriff, probably," Tamsin said, raising an eyebrow. "Depends on what you did."

Not really, but she'd like to know how much shit she was allowed to give this one.
fjordicswagger: (tamsin: not very happy)

Tamsin pulled a face. "'Cool'," she muttered. She and Jake had very different ideas about police professionalism. "What are you, a student or something?"

Tamsin's reaction to that was another raised eyebrow and a, "Sounds like you need a fourth job that pays cash," she said. "Might keep you from winding up in jail for credit card fraud."

"How about no?" Tamsin said dryly. Stupid human. "Now just shut up, you're making the troopers cranky."

The very expensively dressed lawyer marched in to the precinct, carrying a leather briefcase and scowling at the sheer amount of steps in this place.

He set his case on the front desk and looked at the...officer. "I'm here for Ms. Mackenzie Malikov." He slid a business card across the counter. "I'm her lawyer."

...This was the person that Dr. Lecter had sent him for? Well, if the eminent doctor had a soft spot for this former student, who was he to question it?

He picked up his briefcase and stared at the...officer...behind the desk. "We can start with a bit of privacy with my client while you finish the paperwork to release her on her own recognizance. Then we can move on to clearing up this little misunderstanding."
