Once Nathan's memories came back, he'd fled the dorms quickly. He wasn't embarrassed or anything like that, no. He was just sick. Really sick. Being inside so long was hell on his body's chemistry and he'd promptly got outside and lost whatever meal he'd eaten the night before.

He'd stumbled into the preserve and that's where he'd stayed, curled up against the base of a tree while he started to heal up from everything. The buzz from technology finally abated and he'd slept fitfully until about right now, pausing only to go to class.

Today, he wasn't planning on even leaving the preserve. His body was fine now and he didn't feel sick but the sky was overcast and the weather was cooler so Nathan wanted to stay outside. He found himself traipsing over the soft ground, pausing every so often to check out different plants or to touch the wet bark of trees before he pushed on.

There were some places in the preserve he hadn't yet been and he wanted to change that.
