Alana had noticed somebody setting up a party on the fifth floor on her way into the store today, and that was impetus enough for her to spend much of her shift watching the clock. She'd been to a party recently, sure, but they were less fun when you didn't know who you were.

She set up a display of cookbooks for snacks and drinks, in part because they looked pretty but mainly because she could.
