Somehow, Jack had allowed himself to be talked into helping with his college Jewish Student Union's Rosh Hashanah events. This mainly meant calling around to order apples in bulk and honey by the gallon, though he devoted a bit of time to coming up with his own new year's resolutions. (Visiting Emma more was high on the list. So was Being less suspicious,which he was rather less likely to accomplish.)
He spent much of the slow time during his shift on holiday plans, half listening to Tiny and the DJ as they gabbled about some new TV show about Ratman as a child. It sounded like a silly premise, which Jack suspected meant it would be incredibly successful.
