J,GOB, Sunday night

Eliot wouldn't say it out loud -- to most people, anyway -- but he'd really enjoyed having Parker and Sophie around for the weekend. Which would be why he was drawing the visit out now, at the end of the weekend, by promising Parker chocolate chip muffins.

Which he didn't have the ingredients for on-hand at the house, and anyway, pastries weren't really his thing.

"You know, this place says they got biscuits, but I ain't seen a damn proper biscuit on the menu."

[ooc: expecting the guest, but also open, if anyone else is getting the last bits of their PW out this fine night.]

"This isn't a British to American thing, like with Sophie talking about chips, is it?" Parker checked, looking worried. "'Cause I don't think fried chocolate chips would be a good idea."

"Why would a God be named Jeff? Is it a code?" Parker scowled at the wait-staff, who took a step back. "It better not be a code, Muffin Guy. I want a chocolate-chip muffin. Without any double-meanings."

"They were awfully good donuts, though," Parker reminisced. "Okay. Muffin. And hot chocolate." She did the watching you! finger-eye motion at the counter guy and then meandered over to appropriate a booth.

"So if you think it's so weird here, why are you still here?"

"Hunh." Parker frowned, blinking. "But that's actually the way the world should work. Isn't it?" At least in her book. "What kind of fighting, though?" She still kind of thought the school looked like it needed investigating.

Parker's expression abruptly looked older, and more sober. "Do the people at the school look out for them?"

It went without saying that Eliot did.

"I would have wanted a talking pony for a teacher when I was a teenager. You know, if I had actually gone to school at all back then," Parker pointed out.

The counter guy came over with their orders, nodding carefully at Parker's scrutinizing look, and then heading back to the register.

"...I'm liking this muffin so far," Parker reported. "So he gets to keep his face unbroken."

"It's different when they talk. And are pink," Parker insisted, stubborn. "...but possibly true." She tilted her head. "Are there any aliens, from Area 52?"

[identity profile] twolevers.livejournal.com 2014-09-29 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
"That's disappointing. Unlike this muffin." Nom nom nom. "Any vampires? Or werewolves? You have zombies. I bet you have the rest too." Like they were collector's items.

"Is she a ghost?" Parker asked, morbidly curious. "That would be so handy as long as you could pick things up and take them with you!"

"You should really have back-up on this island, you know. And not just once a year or so," Parker was nibbling on the crumbs, not looking at him. "Just saying."

Parker hummed.

"Hardison wants you to call more. Or be on comms during weird times." And Parker agreed, but what was the point of dating someone if you couldn't blame them for stuff you wanted to say?

[identity profile] twolevers.livejournal.com 2014-09-29 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Nope." Parker paused. "Yep."

One of those.

"It isn't about trust," Parker stated. "We're a team. And this place is dangerous. Awesome and kooky but risky." She paused, and added, "Even if Vic is maybe good backup, you know we're better."

[identity profile] twolevers.livejournal.com 2014-09-29 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay." Parker reached out her finger and then said, "EL-eeeeee-ooootttt..." Like an alien in a very famous movie with a glowy finger.
