Luke's, Friday

So more than half the town was off on some kind of vacation, and Eliot himself had only just gotten back from a job (the "Do Not Go Gentle Job", suggested by the client, which was at least an improvement over Hardison's suggestion of the "Oh God, Oh God, We're All Going to Die Job"), so he hadn't been able to check in on the diner until now.

If the busboy didn't stop trying to poke Eliot's recently dislocated and currently immobilized shoulder, he was going to have to lock him into the freezer. Only Parker was allowed to do that. Or, on very rare occasion, Nate.

Today's specials
Turkey club with fresh mayonnaise
Spicy curly fries
Apple pie
NOW HIRING!

Luke's was open and OCD-less.

Vic picked a stool at the counter and sat down as she looked over the day's special. "So the fresh mayonnaise means you just opened the jar today right?" she teased.

"You know if you're going to get snippy with me I'm just going back to my office and eat ravioli. Out of the can," Vic countered. "Or are you going to force me to eat whatever you make?"

Vic snorted in amusement. "You have no idea how dirty I can get."

And immediately realized how that sounded.

"That sounded less slutty in my head."

"Yes. And you do an exceptional job at that," Vic said. "So what are you making for me today? Chili fries? I'm hungry for chili fries."

She was so not getting chili fries, was she?

"Is that French for chili fries?" Vic asked hopefully.

[identity profile] fracknotfrak.livejournal.com 2014-10-10 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sort of... How? There is chili, right?"

[identity profile] fracknotfrak.livejournal.com 2014-10-11 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you trying to be funny?" Vic asked with an amused look. "This is a new look for you."

[identity profile] fracknotfrak.livejournal.com 2014-10-11 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, yeah?" Vc said tilting her head. "Tell me about it."

[identity profile] fracknotfrak.livejournal.com 2014-10-11 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Why? Because you served chili fries to another deputy?" She joked.

"So you say," Vic said leaning on the counter. "But it sounds like some kind of food with duck liver in it. So seriously, what would get me mad?"

[identity profile] fracknotfrak.livejournal.com 2014-10-11 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Because that's what cops do Eliot. Which is why Vic is giving you a curious look.

"Uh-huh."

She pursed her lips and decided to let it go. For now as she idly picked up a menu to look it over. "This poutine isn't remotely healthy is it? I may have to out right reject it."

[identity profile] fracknotfrak.livejournal.com 2014-10-11 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well anything covered in gravy can't be all bad," Vic mused. "What kind of food is it?"

[identity profile] fracknotfrak.livejournal.com 2014-10-11 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"So. Canadian French fries."

Yes. She was trying to be clever. C'mon Eliot. Give her a small grin. Just a little one.

"Yes. I enjoy hanging out with you," Vic said with a smirk.
