Dite's Decadent Delights [Sunday]

It wasn't Irene's usual day to go in to the shop, and in fact, Sundays were usually strictly reserved for leisure. But this morning, she'd woken up to a suitcase beside her bed that read DISLOYAL, and that had been...disarming.

On her walk into town, she'd nearly tripped over a (beautiful, leather) handbag emblazoned with NOT AS SMART AS SHE THINKS SHE IS.

And when she reached the shop, she'd decided she'd better open it, since she wasn't much in the mood to carry home an enormous trunk reading COWARD. She left it off to the side for now, instead posting a sign in the window.

When one found oneself in the midst of an annoying, inconvenient, embarrassing situation like this, one made lemonade. Or something.

Vic was clearly not amused as she entered Irene's shop carrying three bags that were labelled "BROKEN MARRIAGE", "WALT" and "HARASSMENT."

"You got a place I can stash these?" She said with a grunt. "They showed up when I was walking down the street."

It was amazing how quickly one adjusted to this sort of madness.

"In the back," Irene said, coming around with a quick smile to show Vic where she'd stashed her own. The COWARD trunk had been joined by a small, delicate purse that read SUPERFICIAL, which Irene couldn't argue with, given that all the luggage that had shown up was quite stylish. "It's a bloody epidemic, these things."

In contrast, Vic's luggage all appeared to be beat up duffel bags. Except for the backpack which appeared that had the word "BRANCH". Vic quickly snatched up that one as well. "Well, it beats waking up as a guy. Mostly. " she said as she tossed the bags in the bag room with a grunt. "Thanks. By the way, I'm Vic. From the coffee shop last week. Minus the facial hair."

"Oh! Oh, you looked familiar but I wasn't quite sure," Irene admitted with a grin. "I lost most of my musculature and my dashing five o-clock shadow, myself, though it is nice that all my clothes fit again."

Again with the important priorities.

"So this is rather...literal, isn't it?" she added, gesturing to the baggage. "And intrusive. I do so love when the island decides that sort of thing is funny."

"Funny. Yeah. That's one way of looking at it," Vic said with a heavy sigh. "I'm so going to get a shit load of phone calls from this tomorrow. At least we're not getting attacked, right?"

"That we know of," Irene agreed, waggling her brows ominously. "But no, I think this is purely emotional. Lovely way to come back from vacation."

"Were you off island as well? The whole place was quiet while you were gone. Clearly it was saving up everything so it could be a pain in my ass today," Vic said with a smirk. "See anything fun while you were gone?"

"I didn't go," Irene corrected, shaking her head with a delicate wrinkle of her nose. "I'd planned to, but it...doesn't exactly sound like my sort of trip, anyway. I'm not really one for roughing it."

You don't say.

"Mmm, you would have hated my last assignment," Vic said with some amusement. "Absarocka, Wyoming. About as no where as you can get and not a decent Philly cheesesteak in a hundred miles."

She sighed and forced a grin. "It's a toss up whether or not it's better than this place. Less murders here though."

There's a ~sale~! That makes it all better, right?

I will be sort of lurky because I feel awful but if I feel less awful we're going to go pick apples!!!
