The Perk, Saturday morning

Jessica was up early and checking in with people back home. Those texts mostly went unanswered since her team had been up late looking for Roxxon-affiliated drug labs, so it was not turning into a productive morning. Still, she was awake, she had coffee, and she was slightly twitchy about not fighting any gang members like right this second.

Maybe she could take a day trip to Baltimore and rough up some random criminals there to take the edge off before the dance tonight....

Well, whatever, for now she was still kind of enjoying her coffee.

Sia went ahead and got her coffee first, and then sat at the table across from Jessica. "Hello again."

"Hey. Ready for the glitterpalooza I'm sure we're in for later?" Jessica asked.

"No. I'm still finding pieces of it on me since yesterday," Sia said, automatically looking at her hands to see if she was still spreading it around.

"I'm pretty sure I still have some from Prom on my stuff at home. But that was my own fault, I have to admit," Jessica said.

"We're going to be ninety years old and still picking glitter off ourselves," Sia said with a shake of her head. "Aside from that, how are you doing?"

"I'm good. The team is doing okay so far, I've got a cool roommate for now while she takes care of some of her own stuff, the worst stuff I've seen recently is the ridiculous gang stuff I've mentioned," Jessica said.

"But.. There's some stuff about myself that eventually I'm going to have to tell my team about. And...," Jessica trailed off for a moment. "It's not bad or anything, but it's complicated, and I'm pretty sure that before I tell them I need to tell the person who's been there for me through everything the last few years. So I wanted to share some stuff. If you want to listen."

"I'm always here to listen," Sia told her. And it was a good thing Jessica had said it wasn't bad, or she'd be worrying. "What is it?"

"You remember my cousin Peter?" Jessica asked. "He wasn't my cousin. I was cloned from him. I'm a clone."

Sia blinked, and paused, and said, "Huh."

She came from somewhere with clones, this was't that unheard of to her.

"A few years ago, some crappier parts of the US government teamed up with one of Peter's worst enemies to clone him and make some mass produced supersoldiers," Jessica explained. "Things didn't work out and I was the last of the clones.But everything I know and remember up to about eight months before I came to Fandom belonged to Peter."

"It's weird."

"Not that weird, where I come from, but it definitely isn't something I was expecting," Sia told her. "That sounds like a lot to have to live with."

"It probably would have been a little easier if I were at least a boy," Jessica said. "There's nothing quite like being a fugitive genetic experiment on her own trying to figure out how ladyparts work when all she remembers are boyparts."

"But yeah. So. That's me. I came here after I'd gotten a lot of the basic things figured out, but I kind of think I'm only really figuring out who Jessica Drew really is now."

"I can't even imagine," Sia said, because seriously. She wished she'd known earlier to try and help, but she wasn't sure what she could have done there anyway. "How's that figuring yourself out thing going?"

"Well, from what I've figured out, I'm a leader of people, a lover of jackets, a redhead, and maybe someone who likes girls," Jessica said. "So it's been kind of productive."

"It seems to suit you," Sia said helpfully. She couldn't even blink at the 'likes girls' thing after the 'I'm a clone' part.

Which was why she put it in that order. "Thanks," Jessica said. "I'm a little more comfortable with things now that I'm at this point. And it helps that when I'm home, I'm able to really take on that first thing and throw myself into my work. Because, really, more than anything, that is who I am. The Black Widow, leader of the Ultimates, trying to make a difference in New York one day at a time."

"I can definitely understand that," Sia said. Since, you know, she did the exact same thing. "Does that mean it's driving you crazy not to be doing that right now?"

"Completely," Jessica said. "I was considering going to Baltimore and finding some crime to stop before the dance."

"Workaholic," she said fondly.

"It's who I am," Jessica said with a grin.

Sia grinned back, but couldn't help but feel like if Jessica was admitting that sort of big thing, it wasn't exactly fair to keep her own secrets. "So, while we're coming clean about things..."

"I just pulled on the string and unravelled the whole sweater, didn't I?" Jessica asked. "You don't have to share if you don't want to. You know that, right?"

"I know. But I should," Sia said. "Especially since I do understand primarily identifying by your work, which is something I don't talk about here."

"Okay, then. Fire away, I'm all ears," Jessica said.

"Back home I'm a princess," she said. "Who actively works to take down the Sith and reclaim the government."

"So you're not just a badass, you're a royal vengeance badass," Jessica noted. "You're even cooler than I already thought you were."

"Being a princess is actually very boring and most of the vengeance is done via political infiltration," Sia corrected, even though being a Fel in her time pretty much didn't automatically equate to badassness. "Being an Imperial Knight makes me a badass, though."

"Being you makes you a badass," Jessica corrected. "The rest is just awesome titles and responsibility as far as I'm concerned."

"That is probably the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me," Sia said, actually kind of meaning it.

"I'll never forget you saving my butt against Elektra. That gets you all-time badass points in my book," Jessica said.

"You were being pretty badass yourself, though."

It was always funny when Sia got to say words like 'badass.'

"I tend to be, yes. It's in my genes," Jessica said. "I think this has been a good morning for sharing. I'm trying to figure out if there are any other big secrets you don't know about yet. I think you're caught up, though."

"You know mine now," Sia said. "Though I try not to let this get out, for safety reasons."

Not that she didn't trust Jessica, but... safety reasons and all.

"And I'm quiet about mine because... well, it's just super complicated and weird," Jessica said. "But I think we understand each other."

"We definitely do," Sia said, raising her coffee in a toast.
