Hannibal saw the sign outside, and remembered having met Kenzi on Saturday, so after taking a moment to sigh and steel himself, he stepped into the bar and over to the bartender. "Ms Malikov."

You were getting such a look, Kenzi.

"Dr. Lecter!" Kenzi trilled in welcome. A photo of Tristan's puzzled face was right behind her. "Ave, dude."

"As I'm neither Caesar nor Jesus, 'salve' will do," Hannibal answered dryly. "May I have my pictures, please?" He spotted one of the others. "And Raven's."

Kenzi grinned and took down the three that were his, handing them over, then started making his drink. "What are you going to do with Raven's? I mean, how do I know she wants you to be picking them up?"

"As she is an alumna, you will have to take my word for it." Hannibal gave her a reproving look. "I promise you I won't be displaying them to the public."

"Buy a second drink, and you've got a deal," Kenzi said. "And please, you can't even tell it's her in the ones with the feathers over her face. Which still freaks me out. I've met people with wings or aliens who were kinda birdy before, but that was just weird."

"I wasn't aware that I'd bought a first drink." Hannibal turned his pictures into the light to better look at them; Tristan hadn't been much for mirrors. Or shampoo.

"You're not going to pay for this?" Kenzi gave him sad-eyes. Then she grinned, tapping the photo. "Was I understanding right, and this guy knew somebody named Arthur?"

Hannibal gave her a look. And a twenty. "He was, in fact, one of King Arthur's knights, apparently. What am I paying for?"

"This drink." Here, vodka tonic! "And the negatives." Here ya go. "Awesome. He was a pretty cool guy, from what we could make out through our mutual confusion. I really should've learned Latin, though."

"How are there negatives from digital prints?" Hannibal asked. He smelled the drink, nodded, and took a sip. "Maybe I should teach that next. It's no less useful than Lithuanian, I suppose."

"I might've made copies..." Ahem. Anyhow. "And yeah, why not? Dead language, but useful for time-traveling, in either direction. Or evil incantations. Ooo, good reason for me to take it!"

"And where might these copies be?" Hannibal asked.

"Nowhere they can't be erased from! Or burned," Kenzi assured him.

Look, Dr. Lecter had a don't-mess-with-me-vibe that kind of canceled out the fact that he was human, in her head.

"And I trust they will be?" Hannibal prodded. "I won't even ask questions about possible nefarious uses of Latin."

"Of course, consider them ashes," Kenzi assured him. "...yeah, you gotta be careful with that stuff. I bet if I said the wrong Latin thing in the library here I'd wind up on another planet."

"And is that more or less likely if you know what the words mean?" Hannibal asked.

"Oo!" Cecil bounded over to the bar, then pouted when he didn't see himself. This was what he got for turning into someone sneaky. "Hi, Kenzi! Did you get to be anyone different?"

"Hey ya! Nope, so I pretended to be a film director and took pix and film of everyone I ran into," Kenzi said, pointing over her shoulder. "Who'd you get to be this time?" She offered him a drink. "Mai-tai?"

"Yes, please!" Cecil grinned and sat down on a stool. "I was a criminal who went into people's dreams and stole things! Except I didn't get to, which is sort of a crime on its own. But I had a gun and got to be all dangerous and dashing!"

"Dude, how cool is that?" Kenzi said, blinking and leaning forward. "Now I'm really sorry I didn't get a photo of you. Jeeez. What kind of stuff did he steal mostly? Like, their mental TV sets, or what?"

"No? Well, maybe, I guess. But secrets and things! It's a little fuzzy, but it sounded pretty nifty."

"That's a thing somewhere? Man, now I want to do it." Toby would be a natural at that, ha. "Awesome. Yeah, I just got photos of some chick who escaped from a mental hospital, and a medieval night, and a version of one of our alumni who had feathers all over her face, what the hell."

"Like a bird or like a pillow?" Cecil asked curiously.
