The Perk, Friday Afternoon
It was probably a good thing that Kira didn't have any classes today, because she wouldn't have been able to make it through them. She hadn't been able to sleep for days, and when she did sleep, she had nightmares about drowning and being trapped in a deep, freezing dark. She was starting to see things that she knew couldn't really be there, and she could have sworn she was hearing things too, but she wasn't sure if that was from the lack of sleep or her brain deciding that hey, freaking out with music no one else could hear would be awesome.
Needing more caffeine, Kira went to the Perk and purchased her fourth cup of coffee for the day before sitting down at one of the tables by the window. The coffee was going to have to keep her awake and get the taste of coughed up bugs out of her mouth, so hopefully it was strong.

Mostly because she was focused on saying, "You know what, just make all three coffees a large" to the bartista and she was entirely serious about this.

It was possible she was feeling a little pessimistic.

The odds were good that this mode would last only as long as she was talking to Kira but Gwen was super tired of dying.

Okay once again ignoring the past-dead thing look she was trying to be inspirational here.

"We outnumber the ghost girl. That has to count in our favor," Kira said. "I just think there has to be some way to make it stop."

Luckily there was coffee.
And an interesting aura... He turned to stare at the little fox as he waited for his coffee.

Don't do it, Kira.
"To force the ghost out."

KIRA THIS IS WHY WE SLEEP.
"I guess that makes sense." She smiled softly at Derek. "See, I knew talking to you would help."
