Luke's, Tuesday
Eliot had managed to get all the way across the island today without more than a few colorful streaks from the snow -- only to get sprayed by an exploding snow ball that hit the wall next to the door the moment he walked into the diner.
The kitchen staff were having a snowball fight. They looked like they'd been playing paintball.
"Seriously?" Eliot rolled his eyes. "You people understand this is a place of business, right?"
A snowball caught him in the back of the head the moment he turned away. When he turned back with a growl, the whole kitchen staff were pointing accusingly at each other with both hands.
Eliot didn't know why he even bothered to try, any more.

Or five.
He hated this island sometimes.

"No," he said. "Bad." He shoved the kid back through the door and looked back up at Derek. "You gonna order somethin', or you just trying to avoid clashing any worse than you do already?"

You know, unless he was the one doing it.
". . . Well?" he asked, when Derek didn't then go on to actually order anything. "What do you want?"
no subject
He could creepily lurk here. Or just be socially awkward.
no subject
That didn't mean it didn't piss Eliot off.
"What, just a slab of meat?"
Hey, Eliot remembered those fangs. For all he knew that was all Derek wanted.

So you're welcome for that, Derek.
"You want something to drink?"

He eyed Eliot for a moment.
"How's the chest?"
no subject
"It's fine," he said. "Don't worry about it. That jackass deserved worse."
no subject
"Stay indoors on the next full moon." Just to be safe.

Of course he was keeping track. You never knew.

He shrugged. Because he was helpful like that.

It was a liiiiittle more than that. Not by much, though.
