Fandom Post Office, February 17 (Tuesday)
As it turned out, Éponine ran into Cosette on her way from the radio station to work and promptly demanded to know where she'd been.
"I took a walk," Cosette explained with an uncharacteristically distracted expression, "as I usually do, but I must have gotten a bit carried away. I lost track of the time, I'm terribly sorry, but I was just so restless, I couldn't --"
"Yes, yes, it happens, " Éponine answered gruffly, annoyed that she was relieved to hear it, because why should she be so concerned? It wasn't her responsibility to look after Cosette. "Maybe you ought to go back to your father's for a day or two."
She only got a strange look for that. "I've got classes to attend today," Cosette informed her with a mildly indignant expression that said she could look after herself.
So Éponine had relented and let her go on her way with a half-muttered, "Well then, don't expect me to do anything about it if you get yourself into trouble," after which she made it the rest of the way to the post office, went to the supply closet so she could restock the lobby, and promptly abandoned that plan.
"If you ruin any of the envelopes while you're in there, I'm leaving it to you to see they're replaced," she yelled at -- whoever it was. She was assuming they were coworkers but it wasn't like she could see their faces.
Honestly, it was sad how much she was looking forward to trudging around in the cold all day, but this week could go to hell for all she cared.
[OOC: No OCD today, but open post!]
