The Gig, Saturday

After mucking out the stalls and turning the horses out into the pasture, Dani got started cleaning up the tack room. It wasn't her favorite task, but it needed to be done. Besides, Dani felt like she needed a fresh start after that whole pollen mess from last week. She took a seat on one of the hay bales and got to work scrubbing the least filthy saddle in her collection.

Mary looked a bit uneasy as she stepped into the barn. "I brought the clothes I borrowed from you," she said, holding out a bag.

"Sorry it took so long. I opted to get your clothes dry-cleaned instead of giving it to housekeeping, just to be a bit more discreet," said Mary.

"Shh! Keep your voice down. There's ears everywhere, and you're the one worried about discretion," Mary warned. "And I'm not sure we can forget what happened, especially since it's not the first time. By the way, did you ever find my undies? They were my favorites, and I'd really like to get them back."

"You mean you might still be tempted even without all that pollen to blame?" asked Mary, grinning.

"I can deal with that," said Mary. Glancing around, she asked, "It looks like you've got a lot of work ahead of you. Would you like some help?"

"I like cleaning. It helps me feel grounded. And we're probably not going to get into any more 'trouble' if we've got a bunch of saddles between us," said Mary, taking a seat on another hay bale and grabbing a sponge. "Let's get to work."
