Devil's Nest, Monday, March 23
Jack was starting to worry about the state of the island. It wasn't just the dark water or dying plants; there was starting to be an odor of sickness rising from the earth itself -- and, increasingly, from many residents. And to top it off, Emma had been out of contact for the last few days. It happened now and again, and she hadn't been quiet hadn't been nearly long enough to truly worry. But talking to her would still put his mind at ease.
He didn't know what to make of it all, but it was enough to put a werewolf on his guard.
He tried to put the concerns out of his mind as he got to work. There were always liquor shelves to reorganize, and paperwork to do.

"Hello, Candy," he said, surprised and a bit disappointed to realize the call didn't come from Emma. "What's going on?"

He'd known Emma to get migraines if she pushed her powers too far. Truly sick was something different.
Re: Talk to Jack [3/23]
"Jack, it's Friday. I mean, I know you know it's Friday. But. She hasn't been in in a week, and I went and let myself in to her place and I don't know if she knew I was there. She just kept sleeping, and I think she's running a fever. I know you probably have classes today, but could you come up from Baltimore? Please? I know her regular doctor is someone named Hank, and that he knows about her disposition, but I don't know how to contact him and he's not in her phone."
Emma had told Candy a lot about being a mutant, but she had left out certain important bits; like monster-doctors in the sewers, alternate realities, time differences between worlds, the nature of Fandom itself, little things like that.
Re: Talk to Jack [3/23]
He drew a shuddering breath. "Do you know anyone else who's, er, like Emma? I wonder if it's some kind of -- special plague."

He sighed, ran a hand through his hair. "Is she talking at all when she's awake?"
Re: Talk to Jack [3/23]
"But she was really confused the last time she woke up, and asked for someone named Christian before she fell back asleep. That's when I checked her temperature again and decided I needed to call you."
Re: Talk to Jack [3/23]
He grimaced, not wanting to finish the sentence. "Thank you for calling me."
Re: Talk to Jack [3/23]
"But I wasn't gonna just let her lay here in emo or whatever. I just wish I could do something, you know? I don't like standing around doing nothing."

I maybe like Saints Row IV a little.

Re: OOC [3/23]
The whole love scene seems like it should be GIF-able, but no joy. Tumblr needs to get on that.

It is an excellent post-BioWare palate cleanser.
