The Perk, Tuesday morning

Raven's first (in her memory) visit to Fandom was...interesting. She'd wandered around for a bit, hoping familiar places might spark some memory in her, but it continued to elude her. She did get a sense of longing and happiness, though, despite the prevailing feel of sickness she was also picking up on.

When she'd found herself outside the Perk, she went inside to sit down with a mug of tea to contemplate the island. The sickness was troubling. She could not pinpoint a source, and it was making it harder for her to detect people who might be sick and in need of her gifts. Plus there was a thief that had to be found and dealt with so that Karla's Jewel could be returned.

A shiver went through her, and she adjusted her cloak -- her white cloak -- around her shoulders for warmth. Picking up her mug of tea, she took another sip as she stared out the window, trying to decide what to do next.

After a frankly disturbing walk around the island post-class, Anakin needed coffee.

A familiar presence in the shop was more than welcome. "Raven!" he said, grinning. "It's been forever!"

Raven looked up, a little confused. She knew this person, she could feel it with her instinctive emotional reaction of happiness. But specifics? Not a one.

Still, she smiled. "Hello!" she said. "It is good to see you."

"Interesting cloak choice," he teased, sitting down.

[trigons_child]

"I should let you know that while we clearly are familiar with one another, at this time I have no memory of our prior interactions," Raven said, frowning a little. The thought displeased her, more than with most other people, for some reason.

"But my memory should hopefully return in time."

Anakin's face fell. "I suppose saying 'since when' is supremely unhelpful," he said. "Your name is Raven, if that helps."

And your father wears terrifying loincloths! Sometimes amnesia can be a gift?

Raven nodded. "Oh yes, I know that much. I have not been without aid from those who know me. Karla has taken very good care of me, and I am grateful for that."

She tilted her head and studied Anakin. "I have been feeling echoes of emotions more than memories so far. And my emotions for you seen very strong, so I hope I can remember soon."

Anakin's mouth quirked in a sorrowful smile and made a note to track down Karla. "Me too. When did you get to the island? Do you remember that?"

"Just today, though I know I have been here before, of course," Raven said. "I have been in Glacia, but I learned from Karla and Warren that there were unpleasant things happening, so I came to see if I could help in any way. The island seems so familiar to me. It is frustrating that I cannot recall any details."

"You went to school here," Anakin explained. "You took my class. I'm Anakin Skywalker."

[trigons_child]

"Oh! Yes! Karla told me that you helped me a great deal while I was a student here." And indeed, Raven was feeling a surge of gratitude and respect.

"Thank you, I appreciate that very much." Even if she couldn't quite remember it at the moment.

Anakin smiled at her. "I didn't do it to get thanked, Raven."

[trigons_child]

Raven smiled right back at him. "Then you must be a very good person who cares about his students," she said. "I hope that I am able to remember soon."

"I don't know about good person, but I try to look out for the students," Anakin said.

[trigons_child]

"Well, unless you are teaching them how to use their gifts and knowledge for evil, I think that does make you a good person," Raven insisted.

And her word was final.

Anakin's answering smile was real. "You're still you, even if you don't remember," he murmured. "Thank you."
