Prom - Community Center, Friday Evening

Hopefully, Fandom's student body knew better by now than to expect to come into a room decorated normally for Prom, with streamers and flowers and maybe a balloon drop or something for the end of the evening. There were streamers, of course, just as there was the usual surplus of glitter, though most of it had gone up on the walls tonight in cave painting styled artwork featuring alots, teal deer, and gremlins. There were cardboard cutouts around the room featuring the GEICO Cavemen with various articles of historic play costumes draped over them. This one over here? Shakespearean ruffles. That one over there, an ancient Egyptian headpiece and collar. Over in his corner of the room, one of the cavemen was sporting a toga and a laurel wreath. And the entire room was filled with bubbles. Because glitter all over the walls wasn't nearly enough, right?

Arrival/Mingling [Prom 2015]

Show up solo or with a date on your arm, come on in and enjoy the unique decorations! They're handing out Pebbles headbands and Fred bowties at the door, if you'd like to accessorize with the theme, and the music tonight is an assortment of music through the ages, with a healthy smattering of songs about cavemen and dinosaurs thrown in for good measure.

It had never sat right with Edward that he couldn't attend these functions dressed appropriately, and with someone at his side. At least one of these was no longer the case, however, so while his clothing was really only nice in the way that it was clean...

Ronan arrived without anyone but himself. He continued to wonder why he showed up to these things but whatever. The bowtie got...ignored, yeah. He had a tie on, that was enough.

Isabelle didn't indulge the theme although she would have looked adorable if she had. Instead, she showed up looking statuesque and imposing in her green dress and her ridiculously high heels.

Even if she didn't win tonight, at least she'd feel like she looked like a winner.

Face (thankfully) hadn't known about the theme and so wasn't dressed to it.

He had, however, found a suit that wasn't in boring and drab shades of dark. He was so stylish.

Raven hadn't gone with the theme, and she was a little too proud of her gold dress to think about changing. She did accept the headband, though, wrapping it around her wrist to wear like a corsage.

Travis had pictured his prom a few times when he'd been younger but it'd always been a lot different than this. Still, he wasn't complaining. This was amusing in its uniqueness.

Anders managed to acquire a modern suit for prom, though he couldn't quite figure out the point of his tie.

He had absolutely no idea what to make of the decorations, beyond that they were certainly colorful. She smiled apprehensively as he took them in.

Alana still had no idea what to make of the theme, but she truly, deeply, madly loved her .... dress.

The guy she was with I'd assume wasn't half-bad, either.

A quick run (literally) to the mainland and Kathy had finally acquired a dress for the occasion. It wasn't the prom gown she'd been expecting, but the salewoman had taken one look at her legs and refused to even consider selling her something longer. And, hey, it meant she could wear her cute shoes from LA again, that had been one fewer worry.

Sold.

Emma was wearing the same outfit she'd worn to previous dances. It looked good on her and she could save the money for after graduation.

Barry was going to dress appropriately for the Prom. He really was. He had a tux picked out and everything.

And then Jeremy had to email him a link to some weird Bollywood movie.

So Barry was a dog again. A grumpy looking dog who was fighting the urge to chase bubbles.

Ezra showed up looking dashing, in a suit that fit him perfectly. There was no other way for him to appear at these things. Absolutely no other way.

He took a few photos of the decorations with his phone to send along to Ava and Lock.

Minako had no date. Minako needed no date! Sparkle had almost not bothered even coming here tonight. After all, it wasn't like he had a date, and he still felt weird about, like, the fact that this was senior prom and all. But in the end, he'd given in to curiosity on the grounds that at least there would be bubbles, and who was he to pass up bubbles, right?

But he was wearing his make-up tonight. Yes, with the suit he'd pulled on. Because if he was going to rock the prom, he was going to do so as the best-dressed punk he could possibly be.

"What? I am certainly not going to wear this!" Ichabod frowned at the bowtie he had been handed. Although nothing really surprised him anymore when it came to social gatherings in Fandom, he still saw no reason to participate in everything.

What would a dance be without a food table full to the brim with delicious (mostly paleo) snacks and desserts and, of course, the punch.

Probably not spiked yet. That might change as the night progresses, naturally. It's tradition.

Edward wound up here eventually, of course. It was where the food was! And the drinks!

He'd contemplated bringing in the fancy rum he'd gotten from Isabelle to spike it, but he'd relented. Largely because it was expensive rum, and he didn't want to be handing it out just like that.

Instead he was stacking up an impressive amount of food.

The DJ tonight (clad in a European neck ruff and a Fred Flintstone tunic) was keeping the musical selection wide and varied, with popular songs from literally every era in human history. Every. Single. One.

Can you get down and boogie to the sweet strains of the zither or the lute? If not, don't worry about it. There are plenty of modern (caveman and dinosaur) themed songs interspersed for good measure.

They're only slightly darker than usual, since StuCo didn't use as much glitter as usual for this dance. The walls have twinkly deer on them, though. And you're just as likely to have to contend with the bubbles here as anywhere else.

So last weekend's escapade involved Mical (probably passing on Republic demands) insisting that Atton and Mira wear 'respectable clothing', which meant Atton now had a slightly-fancier-than-usual dark brown and gold Jedi tunic at his disposal.

He figured he might as well wear it. It'd get glitter all over it anyway, and then he'd have a reason to burn it.

So for his standards, he was dressed... somewhat formal. In a very Jedi Knight, extremely Old Republic GFFA-fashion kinda way.

I was going to do awesome things with pictures of GEICO cavemen and Photoshop yesterday, but thaaat wasn't meant to be.

Anyway, here's your Prom! I have notifs turned off, but poke me down here if there's anything you need, and I'll try to skive off to the nearest coffee shop to fix it ASAP until I get home from work.
