Chilly Boulder, Sunday
When the children of the baddest crew on this side of the Atlantic decided to steal Chilly Boulder, it was only a matter of time before they did exactly that.
The coup, when it happened, was swift, if not entirely bloodless. The smoke bomb Spike had assembled had worked perfectly, sending all the workers out of the building in a fit of coughing. The trio, with (perfectly coordinated, thank you Joey) scarves pulled over their mouths and noses had snuck in during the chaos and started putting Phase II into action. Spike had gotten Ada into the shift manager's office where she'd started hacking into the inventory to cover their tracks, while Spike and Joey started loading their newly 'liberated' supplies onto the rickshaw that Spike had obtained and they'd wheeled inside.
The first wrinkle came from the shift manager himself, who--against all reasonable expectations--decided that he absolutely had to brave the smoke to get to the timecards and make sure that no one was getting paid for this unexpected break. He was very surprised to stumble into Joey, who immediately began running a beautiful grift, pretending to be scared and lost in the smoke. That might even have worked if Spike hadn't come out with an armful of ice cream vats and an economy-sized bag of sprinkles.
"You absolutely must get us earbuds from your Papa!" Joey called before taking the shift manager down with a right hook that her father would be proud of--and her mother, too, because she'd delivered it without even chipping her nail polish.
"Hurry up, Ada!" Spike had said, sticking his head into the office. "We're blown! But if we take what we've got now, we can still--"
"Nope," Ada said, looking at the second wrinkle in their plans on the screen in front of her. She hadn't been able to change the inventory because someone else had already been doing that and it had taken all this time just to see the extent of it all. "Change of plans. We're moving to Plan C. Spike, you start putting the stuff back that you stole. Joey!" Her sister came running in. "You go outside and start the grift. Talk to the remaining workers and tell them this." She outlined the new plan and within a few words, her siblings began to grin.

"So we all clear on what's going on?" Spike asked, beaming under his new Chilly Boulder visor. "No questions?"
The staff of Chilly Boulder shook their heads. "And no problems with what's been decided?" Joey asked, voice a little sharper. The staff shook their head a little more vigorously, not wanting to get on the bad side of the little girl with the mean fists.
"Really?" Ada asked, suspicious. "Nobody? I mean, we're basically framing your boss." Except for how it wasn't really framing, considering the records that she'd accessed earlier.
"Uhh, nobody really like him," one of the staff said. "He was pretty mean," another spoke up. "Yeah," said a third. "Like, if you were one minute late, he'd round to the nearest fifteen. We'll be glad to see him gone."
The trio exchanged glances again and shrugged. Okay. That sure made things easier. "Then let's get ready to open," Ada declared. Joey gave the shift manager another judicious lovetap, just in case he was even thinking of waking up and then dragged him into his office, where Spike had already removed the phone and the computer, just to make sure the guy couldn't contact anyone for help. Ada pressed a button on her laptop and the electronic signboard lit up.

Talk to the Junior Interns
Re: Talk to the Junior Interns
Ada didn't think so. Life was pretty great.
Re: Talk to the Junior Interns
"You can't have one of everything," she said immediately. Ben frowned hard.
"Chocolate," he said. "Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease."
Re: Talk to the Junior Interns
Because she certainly didn't think there was anything the matter with shoving all the ice cream and toppings into the face of a small child!

"Hi Ben!" she said, not realizing that this was almost certainly a different Ben than she'd met before. "I see you found your Mom. Gonna get a Special?"
Because when you had a damn sundae named after you, you ate it.

Karla raised her eyebrows at the sign, but, hey, who was going to argue with free ice cream?
"Okay, who wants what flavor?" she asked. And then, "Nommy, let your sister go first. She's littler."
Nommy closed his mouth and stepped back. "Only this weekend," he muttered.
Re: Talk to the Junior Interns
The perils of ingesting sugar were right there in front of you, Della.

She was sitting perched on the end of the counter with a big wafflecone full of cherry ice cream with chocolate bits in it, and keeping a sharp eye on all the patrons. Just in case someone else needed to be taken down.
What? It could totally happen. . . .
Re: Talk to the Junior Interns
Having siblings was the best. She was gonna ask for some when she got back home.
Re: Talk to the Junior Interns
She'd long since learned not to try and talk her parents into having another kid, but maybe she could keep an eye out for one to steal them, like Spike had.

Always quote the classics to give you time.
"...or possibly awesome."

Mod Your Ice Cream
Re: Mod Your Ice Cream
Emma had a calendar. She knew what week it was.
Hence why she was keeping an eye out for a trio of familiar blonde heads, and not, say, anything else.
Re: Mod Your Ice Cream
Dorian's other parent hung back, smirking just a bit as he anticipated the show that was to come.
Re: Mod Your Ice Cream
"If you're looking for Sookie or Karla, one is off being a superhero and one is over there with her other children," she managed, not moving least she end up with it glued to her. It was small, small ones were often sticky. IT WAS A RISK OKAY.
