Fandom Post Office, May 26 (Tuesday)
For reasons that were likely understandable, technical proficiency with electronic equipment was not exactly Éponine's strong suit, but that wasn't really deterring her from trying to figure out how to fix the problem herself when she came in this morning and found the LCD display on one of the digital postal scales just cycling through numbers from 000000 to 999999.
This did not actually mean that she was succeeding at fixing the problem. Far from it, as a matter of fact, and in the end she just unplugged it and set it aside to be sent back for repairs.
It did make for an entertaining few hours peppered with creative swearing, though, and at one point Éponine could have sworn she saw, out of the corner of her eye, a gremlin sitting on the counter by the customs forms, eating out of a tiny bag of popcorn.
Luckily she didn't give in to the temptation to throw the misbehaving scale at the damned gremlin. Mostly because she didn't want to have to clean up the mess or deal with the broken-equipment paperwork, but maybe there was a little bit of a desire to behave herself mixed in there, too.
