After a holiday where she remembered the people she knew who had died in various battles, Jessica was making a point to continue working on the small portal device that should theoretically let her visit the people who were still alive as far as she could prove. She was able to open and sustain a small portal for a few minutes at this point. Not enough to do anything useful, but she tried to set the portal for her homeworld and sent a brief letter through.

Knowing Reed Richards' early research, she was well aware that even if the letter made it through, it might not be in a physical state where it was actually readable even if there was anyone who could read it. But she was making progress and she was happy to take advantage of that however she could.

Anyway, it was time to start scaling up to the full projector. That should help with the size and power problems.
