Fandom Post Office, Thursday
It didn't seem right to be cooped up inside any building this week; it might have been somewhat overcast, but the temperatures were grand, and sitting around a cooled post office wasn't Edward's idea of a good time. So he spent the morning making mail runs, as he'd been told he was allowed to do them.
Sadly, that meant that by noon he was out of mail to deliver, and he was back inside, sorting items as they came in.
If the office itself had introduced any shenanigans, he hardly noticed. He was too busy eyeing the door with some small amount of woefulness.

"If you're that disappointed to see me, monsieur," she said, looking far too mischievous to be mistaken as serious about it, "I can take my leave."

"I thought you might get a bit restless, cooped up indoors," Cosette said sympathetically. "You haven't any deliveries to make right now?"

Yes. Because that was absolutely in her power.

"Ah, you're to start rapping on doors, then?" he said. "'Good sir, have you written your mother lately?' It could work."

"Am I to perform for you, then?" she teased. "But I hadn't prepared anything -- well, I suppose I could sing, if you like."
She actually meant that last part.

He hadn't been aware of that, and wasn't sure if she was serious.

"All right, you weren't lying," he said, "Not that I thought you would, but that's a beautiful voice you have, Cosette."

"Really? I'm glad you think so. I do have to admit I'm not actually sure what the song is about, only that I love the music."

He could just about read in his native tongue. Don't ask him to identify German.
"But it sounds like there's some sort of passion in it."

oh I see what you did there Hugo. In any case, it's just as well you don't know, so you can't tell me whether I made a muddle of saying some of the words."
