The Devil's Nest, Thursday Evening
Derek was reading a magazine at the bar tonight. Because why work when you could be paid to frown at articles in this month's issue of The Knot?
...and also feel awkward about the title of the magazine for reasons he couldn't quite figure out.
He may or may not have been marking things that were interesting. God help everyone. He was pretty close to starting a scrap book about this.

The yurts continued to make Jasper uncomfortable and itchy. Between the nightmares of his hand around a knife and the sound of so many people breathing, he had to get out of there.
He'd seen the Devil's Nest when he'd been in town and, on this night, decided to stop in. It wasn't even that surprising to find Derek there. He seemed like the type.

Shut up.
Derek frowned, closing the magazine and all it's glossy pictures of perfect wedding plans. "We don't serve students alcohol here. The other bar does."
In case that was why Jasper was there.

"What's your problem with students?" he asked curiously. "Intimidated by their youth?"
no subject
"So very intimidated," Derek replied with an eyeroll.
no subject
"Why?" Yes, he knew Derek wasn't serious but he was curious to see what he'd say if he acted like he thought Derek was serious.

"Hey, how's it going?" he said casually, taking a seat.

"...good. What do you want, Barton?"

"Are you seriously engaged or did the squirrels go a little crazy?"
no subject
"Why? Are you here to threaten me? Again."
