"Hi, I had a portal to Vegas scheduled and it hasn't shown up yet," Jessica explained on the phone. "It was for Julia Carpenter?" She couldn't really use her own name with them, after all. Hell, she was even using one of her spy burner phones to make sure they didn't have it in the system. "Yeah, it's been kind of a crappy few days, so you know what? Screw it, getting out of town." That was the truth. "Just a few minutes, by the duck pond? Sounds great, thank you so much." But the conversation didn't end there. Nope, the Portalocity employee kept going. Hopefully either the portal showed up or a fight tumbled into the duck pond or something to give her an excuse to hang up.
